She was too late.

That thought crossed her mind, but seeing the void that has consumed the man was almost as terrifying. Sense of unease disappeared with the distortion, as if nothing happened.

Except for the faint odor. One that is unlike encased in stone air.

Nostrils widened quickly to inhale the air.

Forest? A perfume? Or the Plane to which Derl was snatched?

"If only I could trace it." The regretful thought was worded.

The room is filled quickly with Hardheads, investigations are done but neither they nor Sill find a trace of the prisoner or a hint of what has happened.

Some say he escaped, others speculate that he has been mazed and some say the backfiering runes simple erased him. A few speculate that he has swapped the plce with something even more sinister.

Whatever might be the truth: He is gone- his symbols are gone as well- and later reports arrive that something vanished from the High Security Deep Cells in the prison as well. Vanished without a trace. Only the scent of pines filling the prison for a few fleeting minutes....

((This concludes this storyline for now. What exactly happened to the Ur Priest and his pet fiend might be explored in a follow up one day.... ))

Sitting in her room at Foul Olde Spirit, planar traveler was still brooding over disappearance of prisoner. Whatever happened to him, there was no residual trace. Not even sliver of magic.

It vexed her.

Hours later, cowled and garbed in baggy clothes, moved through streets of Lady's Ward. Darkness of night lit by lanterns and magic was like brightest day for eyes of the deep folk. These eyes scanned streets for something. Then, The this stranger stopped, finding what she wanted.

Golden Bariaur. Here she could find the champion and get the gem. Sillxhistraja already had a bad feeling about this.

Calming herself, she reached out for door hinge, ready to enter.

Indeed there was no magic. Nothing has been found.

Looking into that matter, listening to the guards' whispers might only reveal that some think the berk has been Mazed by her.

At the Bariaur she is met by a polite Eladrin.

"Greetings Lady, what can we do for you?"

"I am looking for Deel'nathraeel. I have... Private business to discuss with him."

The folds of cloak opened, discreetly showing silver disk ten inches in diameter, holy symbol of Eilistraee, disappearing behind cloth.

He bows slightly then leads her to a booth which is a bit away from the most populated tables, serves her a cup of tea before retreating.

Soon an Astral Deva approches her, the female celestial smiling at the dark elf.

"A sister of the faith- welcome.", she says with melodic voice, sitting down on the table's other side, folding up her wings until they look almost like an extension of her gown.

"What can I do for you?"

Head lowered to inhale aroma of the tea. The taste was very good. Celestial blend.

Blue eyes looked towards the angel entering booth. While there was privacy to be guaranteed, hood was still lowered to shade the dark elf's skin.

"Greetings, champion warrior. The word was brought that relic of faith came into your possession. I have come to humbly ask for the privilege of becoming it's temporary keeper."

She spoke on celestial, with accent reserved for chaotic planes.

The angel looks over at her staying silent for a moment, considering her request. It was an unusual one of course, it might even be a dangerous one considered what happens to some who were involved in this whole business.

But then she nods, reaches into her robes and puts the slaghly glowing gem on the table between them.

Only a single word is spoken.

"Why?"

"While bringing relic home was final goal, there are many things unknown about happenings here. The thief was only one claw when true danger is still lurking in shadows. These other faiths are too concerned with their keepsakes' safety without knowing that there is more at stake than loss of followers. Here is what I learned..."

So, occasionally feeling the air for any ripples that could be signs of divination, favored soul told everything she knew about the relics, all findings about their purpose and who were instrumental in these events.

"Whoever wants the godkey, they should be stopped. Understanding mystic powers of gem is first step."

The Aasimon listens to her patiently and when she finished the angel pushes said gem into her direction.

"Do it then, please. Find out what you can about this gem and the ways it can be used. Keep it safe and more important stay safe yourself- as carrying this will make you a target for whoever wants to continue Ganthess' work."
