The fiend watches Mauric as he begins to laugh.

"Allow me to give you some advice. You seem to be a bit of a beginner at this, and like most beginners you appear to over estimate your own bargining postion. The Tanar'ri will take the city, in doing so they will have to dispel the dimensional locks around the city to teleport and summon renforcments. In taking the city they will also most likely dstoy the temple and the wards that hold me. I cannot kill that many demons but I will be able to escape on my own. I willl be too late for what I am needed for something for which I will hold you responsible. If the demons have not torn you apart by then. The best result in such a situation is you make a very powerful enemy.

Of course you can accept my offer the chance of safe passage to Sgil and the rewards I offer knowing I will not break my word. I would be free to do what I have to. You would have my gratitude and that of my patron and a reward as well. You make a powerful friend.

Of course uf you'd like me to sign anything you will have to find a way through my wards, and if you can get in, I can get out."

The devil's fanged maw leers at Mauric.

Dorian would leave the crypts and on his way to the temples upper floor he would pass Ayase. She would see him and presuming she is not hiding in the long shadows of the crypt he would see her.

Hasclaan in the meantime returns to the keep where he is greeted by the commander.

"Everything is in hand? Did they come along peacefully?"

Hasclaan adjusts his cloak's fit, stretches- it has been a long day and all the running is starting to take its toll on him. He is impatient, annoyed and tired and as he answers this emotions show in his voice.

"I have no idea. I talked to one of them and sent her down with the offer of peaceful surrender but if they take it or not I cannot say. The priest and the knights advance on them under the protection of an antimagic field- so they should do well."

The man nods to Hasclaan once and begins to reexamine his maps.

"Did you speak to it?"

"I did not. They were down in its..... prison I guess. At least this is what I deduce from their companions reaction and the overall situation."

Shrugging he takes some dried fruits and nuts from a pouch and starts to eat.

"I also avoided any mental contact to it. The last I need in a situation like this is some baatorian schemer begging for my attention. Especially one as powerful as this one."

Takes a sip from his waterskin to wash the dry meal down.

"Of course I am curious what it is all about. Why is a Baatezu bound under a temple of Heironeus? Of course I have some theories."

He looks at the man with narrowed eyes.

"And most of them are quite...pragmatic. Why do you suffer a fiend's presence in your temple. You do not look like a man who is careless nor do you look like a fool. So why?"

The man pinches the bridge of his nose and sghs heavily.

"Soon this will be over one way or another. Perhaps you have notced the emblem worn by many of the knights here. Have you heard the tale of the Chalice of Heironeous?"

In a flash of phosphoric blue green light the contract was reduced to embers slowly dancing downward. As the fiend didn't offer him anything he wanted there was little reason for any additional words to be exchanged. He turned around and strolled off in the direction they came from.

((This is all assuming Ramal wasn't present))

ayase, who eventually overheard bits of conversations as she approached, watching dorian passing by, then speaks to him from the shades

''i hope i'm not the only one to not have forgotten why we're here.''

looks ahead to see what ramal and mauric are doing, then back to dorian

''the city's space is imbued with dimensional anchors and the hieronites projected an antimagic field on the temple, though down here it doesn't reach. very much annoying for all of us.''

As he hears Ayase speak, Dorian stops and says:

"I know why we were sent here. My reasons for coming here though were my own. Ramal is safe... well, as safe as any of us are at the moment, unless he does something foolish back there. He will return to Sigil with us or not as the case may be.

However, until I rest and pray, i cannot open another gate back to the planes. And to achieve that rest, that demon horde needs dealing with. Unless you have a way to get us back?"

''i can gate as well, the problem is not that, but rather get out of this city with the objective. or at least cleanse a part of this city from the dimensional anchors, if doable.
also, normally i wouldn't turn down a chance of killing things, but i was assigned with a task, and for as un-entropic as it may sounds, if it is to further our influence within the cage, i can cope with it. you too did see the dwarf who left yanek's office with a letter, no? she was admitted straight away in pentar's office, without having to wait for her turn.
...
i may even think you can get back in this prime once we're done in time for the siege if you must. *she shook head a few looking at him* regulators...
*she pauses*
ah, the hieronites are awaiting to know if we'll be a menace to their defense against the demons or not. ''
