The Longest Night

John looks to the end of the alley then back at the goblin.

“Thanks, mate… appreciate the help.” A few more coins are dropped in the cup before he turns and makes his way towards Muriels. He, along with Ben, would remain alert and focused the entire trip. If he had any hint he was being followed, he would begin to zigzag through streets in an effort to lose the tail.

As far as John can tell he is not being followed. Given his early start he is back in time to hear the latest bit of the exchange from Minerva.

"To end the spell you can dispel it, either at the jar or the hosts location. Or you can destroy either jar or host."

[*Selebius]

"Thank you for your help."

He pays for the scroll of 'Cure Light Wounds' and stores it carefully in his belt.

"We should tell Hennete about this spell. One of her allies or even the prince himself might not be what she thinks him to be."

Deep in thoughts and silent he makes his way to the Oarsman.

John listens to Minerva discuss the spell with NormanÂ… although itÂ’s apparent he has no interest in the topic at hand nor does he understand it. He was never one to trust spell-casters or priests. Mages always ended up power hungry and Priests always had an agenda. A man with a blade in his handÂ… you could understand that. That was easy.

He would walk alongside the other two on their way to speak with their employers. He would also discuss what he learned from the beggar about the portal and the fact it seemed to be a one way trip.

[*Midnight]

They make their way through The Hive and to The Lower Ward passing the house that Norman passed earlier. They are shown into the suite Hentte occupies she smiles as she sees them.

"You have results already? I am both surprised and impressed."

Norman listens to what John tells them, points out the building as he hurries past it.

When answering Henette he keeps his voice low, his tone is serious.

"We have a few clues we are following but today I see you to warn you. They bought a scroll of a spell called Magic Jar which allows the ossession of a person by another soul. I think you should know about this immediately as this could happen to one of your companions.. yourself and the prince."

Then he goes on about telling about what they found out at the Courts, the house he located in the Hive- it almost seems he wants to share as much information as he can in case something happens to them.

He then waits for John and Thist to add to his report.

John says nothing of the portal. It seems, by his silence here and the explanation by Norman about the spell, he no longer trusts the location they're in.

Thist remains silent, once again letting Norman handle the conversation.

"Magic Jar is quite effective but has it's limits. If count unawares.." he lefts the rest hang.

[*Midnight]

Henette listens to what is said her eyes follow the conversation from one of them to the other but her expression does not change. There is a moments silence when Thist finishes speaking.

"Please follow up the leads and when you know where he is return here for your reward."

If the magic jar spell means anything significant to her or she is shocked or surprise she gives no sign.

Norman bows and turns around to leave quickly.

"The house I found yesterday is not far."

And this is where he goes this time not passing past it descreetly but approaching the building, his holy symbol worn openly- looking very much like a healer of Pelor on a mission.
