"I do. Wait here a moment." He leaves the room and returns five minutes later with an old small leather case and takes out a stack of papers. Most are business contracts until he pulls out one with blood red lettering that gives off a small glow.

"Here. This is it." He lays the contract on the table and goes back to his seat

He spins a tale that is over one hour long that involves the first heir of the nobles on the planet that started over one thousand years ago. Then portals started that connected the two and how the nobles used the portals as a means to sell their own goods. Finally after sometime he gets to the current situation and tells you that someone in his line (even they are unable to pinpoint the actual heir) meet a devil in Sigil while trying to sell some merchandise.

The devil, Ornix (the name is one the contract) enticed his predecessor with a bargin. And he offered the same deal every time he came to by the stall. He would send some of his finest blacksmiths to Klendathu (the name of their world) to teach them magic and most importantly, magical enchanting so they could in turn, create and earn immense wealth. And they could keep all the profits earned unless a clause in the contract was activated and that's using a dark technique involving negative energy (similar what creates the Grey'ane). Once that happens then Ornix and his estate is free to confiscate any all wealth of the parties involved.

The contract is pure brilliance once you start reading it. Any shred of gold that is directly or indirectly involved with magical enchanting selling business can be confiscated. And if there is no monetary base at the time (like in a war), then land will be used as a substitute.

Caterina reads the contract and then regards Locke. She remains cool calm and professional.

"The contract seems in order Sir Locke. As I understand it you did activate the clause by the use of negative energy in the creation of the Grey'ane blades?"

"...and just out of curiosity: Why? You knew what will happen, did you not?"

Hograth crosses his arms in front of his chest- he does not like what he read there.

"One of my nephews created the blade without knowing. Only a handful of select nobles knew the agreement of the contract and each where forbidden from crafting anything even remotely similar."

Caterina pinches the bridge of her nose a sign of frustration seeping through the calm composed mask she wears for the outside world.

"This is why it is easier if you are honest with me from the beginning. Your nephew did he craft the blade of his own three will or was he coerced?"

"... he created the blade.... so can he take responsibility? He is your nephew, I know. But if protecting him costs lives.....", the Halforc's voice training off.

Caterina shakes her head in Hogarth's direction.

"Not good enough I am afraid, if he did so of his own will whether he knew the consequences or not the whole world is still accountable. Our biggrst hope is to find duplicity on the part of the fiends."

"Hm. you are right, Cat."

He ponders, then continues, adressing loke again.

"If there is something like this, this could help. Hm. Where did he get this knowledge from? An imp whispering in his ear?"
