"Of course, I'd love to join you for lunch." Sasha smiled her sweetest smile, and came at the appointed time, full of questions - who was she, why had she wanted the statue, why does she think someone would kill for it? Phrased less demandingly, of course, and spaced out at appropriate intervals. . .Iggwilv,Jul 20 2015 wrote: As Sasha asks around the Festhall the artistic community there would know a lot about the sculpture. It was one of only three made, over a thousand years ago. One has been destroyed and another lost so it is the sole surviving specimen. As she passes the gallery she would see the tall Efreeti woman who was present at the auction looking at one of the paintings. She'd wave Sasha over when she sees her a broad grin on her face.
"Oh I remember you from the auction! I know a bit about the statue, dreadful business that. I am stopping at the Bariur but its terribly lonely. Perhaps you'd like to join me for lunch and we can talk about it?"

The news didn't surprised much the dark figure sitting in the middle of that room deprived of light. "He had the essence of death upon his shoulders." She closed the newspaper and placed it aside, standing next to the window. Outside the dusk was giving way to the gloomy night where the mist started to cover up the street lights.
She thought it was a good night. The absence of moon made her feel odd. It used to add some charm to those landscapes of horror. A pity. Although she thought it was indeed the appropriate night to bring life upon death, or perhaps undeath would be more accurate. It was time to visit the Mortuary to had with Dorland Xef that little chat they were not able to finish the night of the auction.

((As we have people in different locations to each other I am going to try something different here.

She writes something down on the back of a beer mat and hands it to corny, he'd find a guild ward adress 737-739 Mercurial Way
"You're not the first person to ask some tiefling with strange bulbous eyes came here too and asked me, friend of yours?"
Before he can answer he is accosted by Dawn she nods politely through his opinions on the paperweight as he puts it.
"I see, how much did you bid on it and did you know Mister Xef or any of the others bidding on it? Did you notice their reactions when he bought it and if so whose and what were they like. As for the buyers the auction house keeps records. I'd try there."
On inspection of her badge Corny would see that she is a Measure one but her plump frame and lack of any armour as well as the smell of various chemicals coming from her would suggest she is more of investigator than in some kind of combat role. As Neerpha enters she trails off and she lets the Gensai and corny speak, before addressing her.
"Hello Miss. Were you at the auction too?"
As she talks she looks not at Neerpha but at the barmaid as if to confirm something.
"I'll need to talk to you too as well if that is alright."

Iptai makes her way through the hive to the cobwebbed Mortuary. Around her she hears the man shuffles and groans of the living dead as they go about their eternal business. A thin pale man wearing hood and robes spots her and walks over from the corpse he seems to be embalming. He listens to her questions no flicker of emotion on his face and now change of expression can be seen. He answers in a calm monotone.
"I know little about Mister Sarch aside from the fact he has made arrangements for a quite lavish burial plot with us. As for our Factol? I did speak to Factor Trevant and he only said something about the Factol being in Sigil to see something with his own eyes. He told me the Factol said something about wishing to see if it was really what he thought it was, or just as it appeared."
At this point Nepheris enters she is passed by a dark robed man with trimmed enat black hair. He carries a letter sealed with the Factions seal the writing on the front reads "Justice Andor The Prison" The man talking to Iptai acknwoledges the newcomer but continues his conversation.
"As for the statue. I hear Mister Sarch acquired it from an Efreet based here in Sigil when he went out of business. There were a lot in the City of Brass who were agreived it fell into his hands. The living have such strange attatchments to pointless things."
He turns to Neerphis
"Can I help you madam?"

He smirked a little as he received the address even if it was on an improvised space. "Aye, much obliged lass." Not resisting his attempt to simply give a wink of his own. Soon after quirking his brow, about to say something until Dawn butts in. Making a mental note to get back to it later whilst focusing on the gnome once more.Iggwilv,Jul 20 2015 wrote:Scene: The Celestial Radiance Tavern

The situation was convenient, more that she could expect, and that pleased her. The subtle figure of the woman barely stand out in the low light of that lugubrious place called the Mortuary as Iptai was the center of attention and a new distraction came into scene, the messenger.wrote:Scene: The Mortuary

Of course that letter took her attention but she was there for other matters. It could wait.
"...the City of Brass who were aggrieved it fell into his hands. The living have such strange attachments to pointless things..."
When the pale man turned his attention to the figure...
Can I help you madam?
...It wasn't there anymore. Perhaps she decide turning back or perhaps she has never been there. One way or another, her presence was vanished, a faint echo in the shades of the Mortuary. And within them.

Neerepha replies Corny's greeting with a cold, impassive nod. If she heard anything he said at the Measure he was talking to, she wouldn't react. "I wished to meet you again in better circumstances." she added a moment later, in odd voice tone completely lacking her usual insolence.Ambiguous Ruin,Jul 20 2015 wrote:He smirked a little as he received the address even if it was on an improvised space. With a scrawled letter in hand, Odette slips in through the tavern doors behind both Corny and Neerepha and meanders her way to the bar where she orders a drink. Of course, she arrives toward the end of the conversation, but should the blonde catch Corny's gaze at any point, she lifts a few fingers and lazily waves his letter with a flash of white teeth. Odie doesn't interrupt, however, leaving the man to go about his business until free.

In the low graveled inflection of a Hiver, the tiefling is thanked and entrusted with the job he is trained to do; and if not he, than another he would be able to contact assuredly.
With the tavern staff ruled out for the moment, the merkhant staff had become a possible lead.
Additional feelers are extended to the Mortuary, probing any intelligence who might have access to the body or at least have been within earshot of discussion; specifically anything unusual about the make, or coating of the supposed arrow used and if such was the cause of death.
Were there any injuries sustained additionally?
The Archangel waits patiently for answers, returning over the next few cycles should the information take longer to acquire.
