Within the undersigil village, from what was until the first rumors of murdered guvners a rather active building which emenated a strong sense of magic but since that time has been mostly silent, several quick bursts of magical energy can be felt. Soon afterwards, a lone erinyes exits the building know by most locals as simply the Residence, the abode of the sorceress Crimson. A messenger's satchel is tucked beneath her arm and what could almost be called a smug expression is set on her face.

The Harmonium now moves under cover, ragged clothing and studied style of the Under Sigilians, though the five Hardheads are left in their uniforms behind to guard most of the uniforms, to the Mover is opened a portal to transfer him to the safety of surface without unnecessary passing through the hallways of Under Sigil, they are taught different background stories and false names, also daily changing password to identify themselves. Then they scatter around the Under Sigil in merchant groups to sell their goods to locals, as refugees from the Harmonium brutality and in various other roles. Of course to avoid such obvious sight, they scatter in different time intervals and only in drops of couple at time. Dressing and undressing was done within the now proclaimed Syndicate territory indoors.

He sat in the dark of his office. A drink of fine whiskey in his hand, a few lines of Crush on a mirror close to him. It had been years. Years of floating alone, years of trusting no one and years of depression. Charles was spiraling into the past. His ever more frequent drunken spells thrust him deeper into years past. The Cartel was his crutch. It was his familiar home. His name meant something and his presence made people uneasy.
It was wiped out too quickly. It was erased too easily. Now, however... he had a plan. He had an idea, one he could not shake. It was costly but the investment was, hopefully, worth it.
He took another gulp of his drink and did another line of Crush. In a complete haze he stumbled about his apartment looking at old keepsakes from his time with the Cartel. It was time to try to rekindle it... but it would take the arrival of a specific individual. It was time to make that happen. Hopefully his plan would work. Even if it did, finding the man was going to be just as difficult. He had a long road ahead of him

Charles moved his hands through the lumped ash of the old ruin. The building had burned down several years ago during the battles between the Cartel and the Harmonium. In Undersigil, few things are renewed so the ruin had simply become another refuse dump... but Charles knew better than that.
Under the cover of magic, he moved quietly and effortlessly through the old building, careful not to disturb the creatures brave enough to call it home. He made his way to a room that had the roof completely collapsed within it. A short scan of the room and his eyes settled on a particular pile of rubble. It didn't take long for him to remove a plain looking metal box from it that had been hidden here in years past. Tucking the box into his belt pouches, he made his way back to the surface.
Once back in his office, he took a key off of his key ring and gently slid it into the keyhole on the box. A word was whispered and the key turned. There was a click and it opened with a small rusted creak. He gently pulled out a few items from inside. An orb, about the size of a plum, a ring and a small leather bound book. These items he had taken time to hide when he made a deal with the Harmonium to spare the Consortium. They had remained out of his hands for far too long.
With his latest plans in motion, he would need these.
He put them safely in his safe and poured a drink.
"Now for that Lawyer to succeed.." He said followed by a sip of his whiskey. This was beginning to get expensive but investments usually were.

Several days pass as Charles pours over the small book he had salvaged from UnderSigil. It had been a long time since he dabbled in this magic so it took a bit of a refresher course for him to remember it all. When he was satisfied that he was familiar enough, he placed the ring on his finger, picked up the orb and concentrated. A check in his book to ensure he was using the correct code andÂ…
“Ping…” A very short burst of energy was sent out from it. One that lasted a mere half second.
He then set the orb down on a soft pillow, took off the ring and placed the book back in his safe. He was unsure what would become of his test. It had been almost five years since the old communication network had been used. Most of the users were likely dead and if they were alive, likely lost their orbs and rings a long time ago.
Regardless, if these orbs still existed, wherever they may be, they would suddenly, and briefly, come to lifeÂ… maintaining a barely discernable glow until disturbed. They wouldnÂ’t know who sent out the burst only that whoever did had both the ring and the code. That, in and of itself, meant someone from the old inner circle was reaching out, if only briefly.

Somewhere, drifting amidst the endless clouds in the City of Baha, one such orb came alive. Its owner hastily walked over to the shelf of old relics to inspect it, only to find the glow disappear the moment she touched it.
"Damn and blast, and here I thought the old man finally decided to come out of retirement..." - the black haired woman rambled to herself - "Might as well have a gander at the old manor."
Within minutes she geared up and descended the ivory tower which she now called home, making her way casually towards a familiar path down into the bowels of the Cage.

Lying in bed a ring shines to life. A woman glance to the ring then lies down on her back.
"Hm .... interesting." After some thought, she shakes her head. "No, Xa'sis'ix is dead. Best to keep her dead. I wish you luck in your endeavors."
The woman formerly passing as the Devil Xa'sis'ix heads out to the river. She carefully takes the time to remove any physical or magical ties to the ring and tosses it into the water.
"I have a new life. Good luck; Old Man."

Several weeks later, a second burst causes any remaining orbs to once again, come to life with a small glow. This time, however, the glow maintained a pattern. If one had both the ring and the codebook (and understood how to use both), they could figure out that the latest ping was sent by someone listed in the codebook as ‘Sparrow’.
Few people still alive would know who that was.
