//Proceeding under the assumption that the dark elf matches the description of Faelyn that Auric got from Charae...

Auric decides not to waste time quibbling.

"Two things, first is information. Apparently Thought Taker wants you delivered to him. There's at least a few Indep bashers who're interested in the coin he's offering."

A momentary pause for any response, then continues,

"If you want my suspicions, it has something to do with an alhoon by the name of Kalix. For some reason he wants you off his mental game board, which leads us to the second thing, the business proposition. You're not Kalix's only opposition. Your old employer would like to have a civil word about your shared mind flayer problems."

//Indeed he does.

Faelyn does not show any visible reaction to the news about the thought taker. He is either very stoic or he already knows.

"I see. If it is the previous employer I think you mean, and I have had a few, the last time we spoke she made it abundantly clear my continued health and good fortune relied on her never setting eyes on me again. So what I am asking you oh anonymous stranger is why I should believe you?"

"For starters, she sent me for just such a reason, to arrange a civil meeting. If you're expecting some empty spiel about her changing think again. What has changed is that she wants Kalix in the dead-book, and of the impression that somehow Kalix is preventing scrying from finding you, which strongly implies that Kalix doesn't want the two of you talking. Conversely, that means she's willing to make allowances if it gets her what she wants, which, coincidentally, is Kalix out of the way and no longer a problem, which means he'd no longer be your problem either."

"Say what you like about her intentions, but are you honestly thinking that a mind flayer lich has better plans in mind for your 'health and good fortune' than someone who has already demonstrated a willingness to spare both when there wasn't something in it for her to do so?"

"Think about it, it's a pretty good deal that's on the table. She finds out what Kalix doesn't want her to know, and you meanwhile get to have someone else remove an enemy for you."

"Hells, if I knew exactly what it was Kalix didn't want her to know, I'd be asking you and we'd have moved on to a more productive argument."

The drow sits and listens were Auric expecting him to react badly he would be mistaken.

"Then she knows where to find me. You however are a different matter. You say you have a means of curing the plague in a wand. We have several stricken with it."

Perhaps it is not what one would expect from a drow but the fate of these people he has gathered in the hive seems to matter more to him than the danger posed by an Alhoon.

Auric nods. If Faelyn cares more for his people than for a threat to himself, the welfare of his people are definitely a priority he's going to support. "Not for long you don't." Auric looks to the guard. "Lead the way?"
