He pats Norman on the back and continues to smile warmly. While he isnÂ’t an overbearing man, he probably still looks a littleÂ… wild.

“I think my friend here can better sum it up than I can, Miss. Besides… with all my stammering and word stumbling, I’d about pretty much take up your entire day trying to get my point across. A pretty little thing like you probably has plans after work she needs to keep, hm? Don’t want to keep those suitors waiting too long while some old worn traveler keeps you after the clock”

He smiles and winks at her and moves back to where his dog is sitting.

Norman smiles nervously at John then offers the papers that lead them here to the clerk.

Of course he discreetly pockets his coins afterwards- he is no rich man.

As he examines the vial Pinom would soon realize that there is something faded on the stopper, a maker's mark perhaps but it is to faint to tell exactly what.

The group make their way over to The City Court and once they arrive they are confronted by a reception desk manned by an aasimar wearing a faction badge that denotes she is an aide. She beams at them.

"How can we help you all today?"

"Good day, Miss. I am Norman Tenn if the church of Pelor. We are looking for informations and hope to speak to A9 Gharis."

Norman smiles, his experiences with clerks and buraucracy not really extensive- but he tries to be polite and patient.

John would stand off to the side during the conversation. His hound would be sitting close to him. He was never comfortable in “civil” situations and the ways of bureaucracy. He would ensure he was close enough to hear the conversation but unless it was deemed necessary, would remain silent.

Thist simply stands a little behind John as he listens.

She opens a number of folders on her desk and examines them for what is bordering on an unbelievable length of time before looking up with the same sunny smile and speaking in an infuriatingly chirpy tone.

"Do you have an appointment?"

She takes the papers and looks at them her expression becomes a look of confusion.

"This is a pass to allow you to portal ledger which begs the question why you were trying to..."

She trails of wearing the exasperated look of someone who is used to dealing with the general public and their "quirks."

"Head down the hall way to my right take the third turn on the left and head up the stairs. You'll have to show the letter to the bailiff there and after that it is right then left mister Gharis."

John pulls up a seat and gets comfortable beside his dog, taking out a small pipe.

"You'll forgive me if I wait out here, fella's... The view is much better from this vantage point than looking at a bunch of old books"

He would smile, pet his dog gently, and make friendly small talk with the clerk as the others headed down the hall.
