Dace eventually brings the dagger found in NIelfhiem over to the priest, mentioning that the Moonstone Shard was placed in its pommel, and that the two artifacts were somehow keeping fiends of the building it was in. He also tells the priest of the strange magic over both items when they were attached to one another.

The sounds fabe and the blade fits well into Maurics hand but it now feels terribly cold and somehow Mauric feels it wants more.

However what exactly happened he does not know- the fate of the undead a mystery to be explored.

************************************************************

In the barracks Dace meets Sir Colus Bern, the Champion of Heironeus greeting the adventurer in the small toom he uses as his office.

He listens to Dace's report, making some notes.

"This kind of interaction is surprising me... as is the fact that those two relics have been joined together. I wonder who did this.. was it Ganthess before we arrested him or is there another, unknown player entering the game?

Anyway, you did the Church of Heironeus a great service with recovering this blade and I ask you what your reward shall be. Gold? A favour?"

*************************************************************

Later that day the list given in the book is updated:

Only the Drop of Light, a relic of Pelor is still missing, the blood of Tyr soon to be recovered by a champion of this faith.

The other relics have been recovered it seems, several of them have not been returned to their churches however.

As a being couldn't be transffered via a summoning unto Sigil he decided to rule out that thesis. He winded a cloth piece around the blade and walke in a hasty pace through the scarcly lit halls marked by slow decay. Entering the Tower of Ash heading straight out exiting into the quasi-plane itself he wandered into the colourless dunes. He feelt how his body heat was drained away as he wandered further from the turrent that seemed smaller and smaller when he turned to reassure himself of his distance from it. The wind seemed to be blowing from the very ground beneath his feet. His limbs be came more rigid and his paces grew slower. It was not the cold, it was the lack of warmth a human body needs to function. He envoked the Power of brimstone and held his hand close to his heart so the heat would spread throught his veins but the plane greedily siphoned it. He could not linger much longer he thought as he looked behind him seeing only the crown battlements of the Tower rising above the horizon.

In a dell he spotted his quarry, a meandering ghoul. Quickly he unwinded the cloth around the upper part of the blade leaving the rest as a improvised handle he charged ddown at the undead aiming a strike towards it's upper head attemting to fix the blade fast to the skull wondering if the same effect would occur here. Or could it be that the beings was swallowed by the blade itself like a pocked plane could swallow matter.

Dace shrugged at Sir Colus's offer. "Well, if your temple can provide men to help in the push against the invasion force here in the Lady's Ward when the time comes, that'd be great. Otherwise.... " he pauses, considering the next request. "Know of a way to recover memories lost to Styx Water?"

"Our men already reinforce the Harmonium in their operations. As for the cure of Styx water... a Wish spell or a Miracle can do it... as can a experienced psion.. a Telepath. "

Dace considers the priests response before answering. "Then, I'd ask that you help my wife and I reclaim our memories. If you can perform the ritual, or arrange for someone to... that'll do. Until the, well...i'm ready to help out with whatever's left.

As for the dagger...well, apperantly this outsider found it on an altar in the room. Some dark power, though I didn't get a look at who..."

Two days later...

There is another visitor in need of seeing the priest. This one, while familiar, is unlike herself. Sillxhistraja Fernalit was usually showering Colus Bern with nicknames, show off her eccentric nature and was bursting with energy with each count of tenth second.

This was either her long lost twin or doppelganger. Instead of garish armor, there were flowing strips of black revealing robe with golden embroidery. Shoulder pads attached to the garb were fluttering on breeze of air, dark feathers ruffling slightly. Circlet embraced the forehead of drow. But most disturbing was the nearly constant hue of red that clouded once sky-blue eyes.

"Colus Bern? I would like to discuss something of importance."

Mauric's defences were about to fail on this hostile plane when he found his prey- the warlocks's lungs stinging, his mouth dry, his nostrils clotted with ash, ash that also clings to his hair, brows, even eyelashes, ash that almost devoures him.

The Ghoul lifts its arms in defence- part of Mauric realizes that once it has been a female- but the Scythe's cruel blade glides through the undead's flesh and.... no. It does not glide through it it swallows the flesh, drawing the creature inside it and this time Mauric almost follows.

((Gimme some will and Fort, please))

***************************************************************

"An altar.... I see." The man strokes his bearded chin, thinks- then looks at Dace again. "Anyway.... my promise I will keep. If you like I will take it upon me to perform the Miracles needed... if you prefer a mage or psion or cleric of a different faith I will offer my help to find one."

***************************************************************

Sill finds Colus in discussion with some Harmonium officers, the men preparing the Champion's depature from the Barracks.

Seeing the drow approahing them, noticing how different she is this time he dismisses the Hardhead with a few friendly words before turning his attention to his visitor completely.

"Greetings. What is it you want to discuss? Shall we take a walk perhaps or would you prefer the office?"

((Will roll 2 total 33 fort roll 4 total 26))

The unexpected effect made him fall forward in his stroke as he had expected resistance from the mater making up the undead being. His long raven-black hair discoloured by grey ash fluttered above his head. He inhaled deeply letting the fine grains enter his lungs nearlt choking as the dry substance clogged his throat. Grinning madly as he feelt the pull, all that bound his body together starting to dissolve at it's core. He relished the unravelling in combination with the onslaught to his body by the plane itself. He burned with hatred for the creation, he hated everything, his own body and being was no exeption. He had to force himself to quell the urge of letting the lick from the maw of entropy devour him fully right there, his last thought - I want to hear them all scream in agony and despair as everything is taken from them. There was no fear nor regret of anything lost or unachived there was just hatred.

The call was sweet, the promise honest- just the end of everything, just leaving behind all that was, is and might be, becoming one with the power that devours all. The warlock realises that this thing is not a god's relic anymore, that it has changed, that its purpose is devouring- one day perhaps to devour itself.

Mauric resists the call this time- but he feels that this thing grown on the essence of the ghoul- the creature adding its own hunger, its own anger, its own joy about corruption and death to the scythe's.

Then the thing is silent again- cold and heavy in Mauric's hand- the weight doubled by the exhaustion that gets stronger and stronger in the warlock's body.

The blade does not promise, does not beg, tries not to seduce.

It just waits. As if it knows that one day entropy will come for all of them.
