"As Sir Hasclaan suggested, see if you can identify what kind of demon that was at both scenes request a cleric. One familiar with the denizens of the Abyss and see if anyone saw what it looked like flying away."
She then looks to Charae "Are there any questions you wish to ask?"

"Measure? If you allow I would like to return to the burnt down outpost to do some investigations there. May I ask for a cleric to come with me so I can ask the dead a few questions? "
He smiles at the women. "After all I think there is nothing I can do here... so I leave it in your able hands."

The Harmonium cleric seems ready to accompany Hasclaan but after receiving an order from a ranking officer even if it is one of another faction he follows that instead casting the spell and repeating the question in a low whisper like a strong breeze. The corpse responds. It is disjointed and slow.
"We were ordered to keep an eye on the inn and the bazzar. Then we heard a commotion from the inn. We went to investigate it a woman said she witnessed a murder. We went up to the room she mentioned. We saw a man there standing over a body. He wore a skull mask and robes. He was the same build as Ashterot. I think it was him. The Factotum charged him he raised his hands and there was a flicker of flame and then she was gone. Just hone. I charged him too. He cast as spell and it all went black. I could hear him in the darkness. I think I caught him a few times but he was too quick."
The corpses face twists into a look of macarbe horror as it relives its death. It adds stoically.
"He got me. I think he got me."
//Spellcraft for those present please.

//I dont have access to my PC right now. Her spellcraft is high 20s iirc if you could roll for me.
"Caught him? As in you cut him?" The dark elf turned to the Measure. "Where is his weapon? If he has blood on the blade, we could use it for a divination spell."
She then turned to one of her namers. "Find the woman he mentioned. We need to question her and identify the victim."

In her time at the temple of Lloth on the prime she is from Charae would have heard of curses so powerful they could send a soul screaming straight to The Demonweb Pits. The spell enacted sounds like it could be one of those.
Hasclaan has a much better idea. The Guvners have a catalogue of crimes against reality, or loopholes should they be cast by a Guvner as opposed to one of their foes. Some so powerful they overide what would be considered the natural laws of the multiverse. This is one of the better known ones capable of sending someone body and soul to the lower plane of the casters choosing.
As they discuss the weapon they would notice the spear it clutches has blood on the blade.
The Harmonium await their Measure's orders with regard to the witness.
//Dark Arc: I gave Charae a spell craft of 27 and rolled an 11 which given my luck with rolling dice is probably the best you can hope for.

"I believe we will not be finding the factotum," Charae said. Just one more reason she had to catch the warlock. "I'll take a look at whatever is left of his target. Perhaps you should accompany Guunt, Measure."
The dark elf scooped up the spear and droped it into her bag of holding.

"Lets hope there is the right blood on that weapon.", Has states dryly and then adresses the priest. "Are you able to use this as a focus for scrying? And I fear if the Measure allows there will be even more scrying later..."
He does not comment on the spell used, fileing this information under useful but not important.
"Oh and no need to hurry, Charae. I will first wait what this scrying gives for results. Also be careful... removing evidence from a crime scene is a crime and it is not covered by the 7th tenent this time", he adds with an appearantly good natured smile.
