"They serve Senator Exis. A Devil-lover he is. If we follow his way Ribcage will fall."
She looks over at the other guards, not hiding her disdain- the other guards wearing similar uniforms, showing a almost similar discipline and professionalism- but differently coloured flags.

" You do not know? He voted for letting more devils enter this town- despite knowing about the danger. Just a slight shift.... a little bit more.. and this town will be a part of Baator."
She looks at the mercs, extends her arms. "All this will be gone, the whole town and its inhabitants swallowed by the Nine Hells."

Minding her tongue this time she kept her thoughts to herself. A good riddance that would be as there was little room for impairment.
With her usual arrogant and sinister demeanour seeping out from the narrow slit in her raiment. she turned her head towards the yon barricade.
"Indeed that would be a pitty. It is my understanding that a mournful lay your lips would not offer to one of their fallen."
Her eyes set on the Tiefer again. A flash flickered through them a alit by the torchlight. "A dirge of rapture howbeit.." She spoke slow with a unnatural suspense.

The tiefling gives an mischevious grin and a small shrug.
"It is our duty here to enforce the peace in Ribcage. Despite the political differences we follow the laws. Exis is a fool however.. it is said he hides devils despite Lord Paracs offering a bounty for non registered devils and severe punishment to those helping them.
But this is politics... where are you heading?"

"The ally of red iron."Her words lingered at the tip of her tongue before she continued. "Number twelve to aim arrows closer to their marks." She broke eye contact and inclined her head looking slightly behind her heels while she adjusted the scabbared sword mounted on her back perhaps suggestive of their hostile intent to whom ever lived there.

A smile plays over the Tiefling's lips. "Let me check your papers then be on your way.
Down that way... the sixth road left until you will see another Barricade. After passing through this one just go straight ahead until you see this large wall... Lord Paracs' fortress. Turn right and you should find what you look for."
She explains casually while checking the documents, then gestures to her companions to let the travellers pass.

Ganatog follows Mae through the checkpoint after they've shown their papers. He knew the longaxe strapped to his back would be little use in such tight quarters if it came to fighting, so he slipped from his pocket a set of heavy alchemical silver knuckle dusters and slipped them on under his gloves as they walked along.

The storm gets weaker as they walk deeper into the town. There is some strange silence, the bloodred cobblestones often covered with the sand the wind blew into town, the bad weather resulting in most locals staying inside.
They find the guards at the next barricade to tired and they barely examine the documents before letting them pass.
In the distance there is a great palace, richly adorned and towering over the surroinding buildings- probably the local Lord's own fortess.
But they also find the place they are looking for almost right beside the wall that surrounds this palace- their destination a smaller estate with a warehouse nearby, surrounded by a garden. A sturds fence of wrought iron keeps trespassers out and the gate is guarded by a single Tiefling in chain armour, the man leaning onto his polearm heavily.
