She casually and politely thanks Khazeet's patrons for their time, and drifts off in search of Sharon, who's apparently been taking point on the investigation so far...

Upon approach to Khazeet's bar, The Copper Lady, Sharon Raynsford had a brief conversation with a small group of people, namely Danae, Kaltia, and Argent, then departed soon after. Despite the larger gathering that followed to her apartment door, Sharon spoke privately with the three (plus Adele) inside of her apartment, hoping the soundproofing Rhistel had previously installed would be enough to desist eavesdroppers.

After the meeting concluded, as well as other matters, Sharon seemed to slow down her questioning. She kept an ear out for the latest dark involving the case, and made sure to ask about any other matching murders about the Market Ward, but an air of confidence was about her. Did she learn key information from that meeting?

Either way, she began to sit around Khazeet's bar a little more often, her gaze shifting quite often toward the entrance to Undersigil so often used by recent would-be planeswalkers in the city. She took a sip of cider from her glass, and waited.

A whisper spreads through certain groups of The Cage, and in the dark of night a message is transmitted through those connected with a particular individual of Sigil.

"The pelts are well collected. Return to the Wolf Mother's den."

The Skin Slasher has been surprisingly inactive after that last victim. A welcome change, as things appear to be almost back to what is sold as normal by the Market Ward. Perhaps the murderer is tending to their wounds, or re evaluating their victims. If there have been new attacks, they must be somewhere far from sight.[/i]

Shortly after speaking with Danae in the Bazaar, Kaltia, Altair, and Rexxar, all made their way down into the Undersigil with something stalking them as they went along. When the three arrived outside the Wild Side the same something stepped from the shadows to confront them. There are rumors of a brief exchange of words between the four, then blades flashing in the barely lit darkness outside the club. Bodies fell to the street. Those left standing moved all of the others, standing or not, into the building only minutes later. When the doors to the club shut they remained locked for the rest of the cycle.

After the violent and sudden exchange in Undersigil, the Skin Slasher has not struck again. Chant speaks of a last attack involving several of Kaltia's goons slaughtered in the tunnels between her establishment and the Bazaar, but investigation, if any, has been done privately and little is known about them by the general public.

What is obvious is that the murders have stopped, but without a clear explanation as to what became of the Skin Slasher, the population have begun to spin their own theories. Sigil is far from a safe city, however, and soon enough the tale of the Skin Slasher, the invisible serial killer with a taste for Tiefling Skin, will melt into the mundane and the norm. Another story to frighten children and drunktards, another open ended mystery that will keep cutters leery of one another.

Several cycles come and go following the conversation between Mercykiller and Bleaker, and with them hours of investigative perusal by candlelight. Finally, near a week later, Dace would receive a missive bearing a dull, wax seal imprinted with the offical insignia of the Bleak Cabal; distinguishing it from airship's usual mail at behest of silver-haired femme. Once broken, the letter reads in flowing text broken only by the jagged lines of quill and splotches that suggest a manifested tremor of digits.

Following a very hushed discussion between herself, Sharon, and Justicar Zarovan in the bazaar, Brynn can be seen leaving in the direction of the Clerk's Ward and briefly passing through it into the Hive. Sixty years of familiarity and a few timely applications of her invocation of invisibility see her safely through the streets, Walking Unseen until arriving at the very gates of the Mortuary, at which time she was seen to appear from thin air and enter the premises. Though never a member of the faction, as a homeless undead she had often sought refuge in one of the many coffins lining the Dustmen's walls during her unlife in the Hive Ward, and so there is a certain familiarity with which she is greeted at the gates.

After having spent some time within the halls of the dead, Brynn emerges once more and makes her way to the Lady's Ward by way of the Lower. This time, the barracks of the Harmonium are her destination.

The Mercykiller's efforts and work through the cage give fruit. All through the streets, notice flyers with the emblem of the Harmonium begin to appear posted on the walls, declaring the serial murderer known as the Skin Slasher the target of a manhunt.

For assault and over 12 counts of murder, including that of an Harmonium Officer, and other vile crimes against the City of Doors. Being a Grand Assault case, Harmonium agents are authorized to conduct investigations in all wards, including the Grand Bazaar, as decreed by the Hall of Speakers.

Doppelganger draped in the skin of their victims. Can take any form, speech impediment and stench of decay are consistent. It has been spotted disguised in several different races of all sizes and appearances, among which are Tieflings, Khaastas, Genasis, and other humanoids. Last spotted wearing green armor, the mask despicted by a witness, and very dangerous weaponry.

VERY DANGEROUS DO NOT APPROACH UNARMED

It's been several cycles since the last reported strike of the Skin Slasher. Some suggest it may have escaped the City of Doors knowing it had attracted too much attention. Others suggest it died somewhere out of touch, picking the wrong target. Others go so far as to suggest the possibility of the Skin Slasher being trapped inside a Maze. The people of the Market Ward are only concerned with the bets as to the murderer's real identity, however, and money flows to the hands of the lucky few who suggested a doppelganger being behind this.

Opportunistic entrepreneurs would commercialize "miracle methods" to identify Doppelgangers, with varying degrees of real usefulness.
