A group of adventures had found a magical tome on a fallen human near Esmarelda, this tome stole away the adventures to the deep dark ocean to face a powerful foe. Not much is know to the public about what happened, however those around know that Deidra left with the tome

///this is just a RP thread for those desiring to do something towards last nights plot and the others to come!

Sitting in a corner of Khazeet's bar with the book flat across the table in front of her, Deidra ponders the strange object she's found herself in possession of. Steaming mug of coffee in hand, she slides a finger across it's cover curiously. A long sip latter, she snaps out of her daydream and picks up her quill and signs her name at the bottom of a brief letter.
wrote:To : Hall of Records, Archives departement, sub-divison death certificates.
From : Deidra Dawnstar, SIGIS reporter.

To whomever wishes to pick up this task, I require an archivist to look up death certificates in the recent year within the Cage for any that may be from a drowning, and gather them for my attention. Appropriate payment will be provided, please contact me at SIGIS offices to negotiate an amount.

-Deidra
The nymph reads over the missive again as she finishes the bitter drink that is her guilty pleasure before folding it in two and gathering her things, handing the letter and a few coins to a courier as she makes her way through the crowded market, stubbornly closed book under her arm. Leaving the ward, she then makes her way to one of the various libraries of arcane knowledge in the city to see if she might be able to dig up any clues as to the tome's nature.

Today Several people went missing from Sigil after a few hours they appear in the Bazaar, another book finding its way into the city

Deidra
After a few days she returns to her office to find an envelope inside is but one death certificate of an indept merchant called Blair. who had apparently drowned mid day at his stall within the Bazaar two years ago.

Her research into the tome turns up nothing so far but she does start to feel like she is being watched.

Feeling reasonably safe now that she has gone a day or two without being randomly being attacked by elementals Aleis had presently departed for the Civic Festhall. After procuring a blank sensory stone she traveled upstairs to a secluded room away from any open sources of flame. She then began to set up a workstation around her; the tome she had recovered, bound in the hide of a red dragon, resting in front of her on a raised wooden book-holder, assorted magical reagents and tools to her left, and a blank piece of parchment with ink and pen on her right.

She started off by writing down on the parchment in the top-left corner:
wrote:Aleis Silverwright d'Cannith, Artificer of the nation of Cyre.
Namer of the Society of Sensation.
Some time after Anti-Peak, 3rd Lady of Sacrilegion 131Ha
As she finished scribbling she paused for a moment to consider how to proceed. She then added to the parchment the lines:
wrote:This tome is one of the four keys to a prison.
This is my attempt to study and learn of it.
Satisfied with her work, she had taken the blank sensory stone and began to imprint her current sensations upon it, starting first with a rereading of the note she made. After briefly looking it over she then turned to the tome, opened its pages, and started reading from it.

Aleis
Only one page of the book holds text a poem, next to the poem is a picture of a red dragon upon a mountain of gold. the poem reads as follows

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

As aleis reads the text, any fire within the room seems to grow and twist moving to the will of the reader.

Still recording her memories with the stone, Aleis had meticulously flipped through every page of the tome to make sure there was nothing further contained within.
She took up her pen again and scribbled down a copy of the poem in her notes. Just above the copied poem she prefaced it with a note describing the page number it was contained in and described the emptiness of the other pages.

Her notes done, she retrieved a scroll of Detect Magic from the assorted magical items to her left, followed by a flask of alchemist's fire. She first cast the spell contained within the scroll, then began to examine the flask of semi-magical flame with the divination of the spell. Aleis would move the flame close to the tome, then moved it away to determine how it responded to being near the tome.

Afterwards she would do the same with a flask of alchemical acid, a small vial of water, and a flask of quicksilver. She would take note of the reactions to each while still recording her sensations in the stone.

as the flame moves closer to the book it flares with magic again shifting and bending to the will of the tomes owner, at this moment being aleis. The other flasks have no effect and are not enhanced by the book at all, except for the water that seems to pull towards the tome seeking to escape the flask after a few moments it stops and the magic fades from the water vial

Deidra
Her assistant continues to look into it however there is nothing found, all information on the merchant other then the death certificate appears to have vanished. Asking around the faction she learns there are a few people who use to know the merchant that Deidra could meet with.

While the book remained on her person at the waterfall she did notice bits of the water pulled towards her. focusing upon the water gives her a minor level of control over the element, reading the poem out loud on the other hand forces the water to meld into an elemental bound by her will.

///let me know when you want to meet with merchants friends and we will do it IC!

Aleis
The stone is placed within the private sensorium at the namer's request. the letter on the other hand never arrives.

Blair... Blair... well one lead is as good as any, thought Deidra. In the past few days, she had spent good time looking into that name, and the death, not only in the hall of reccords with the assistant she had previously hired for the task, but also on her own in the SIGIS archives and other papers, looking for indications on anyone who might have known the man well, or that might have seen the death happen - and more difficultly, how to track these people down.

But for now, she had something else on her mind. The massive elemental storms of the other cycle had troubled her, and she decided to attempt to better control the wild powers of the tome. Setting off for the well-known waterfall of Brux, she mentally revised her plan. First she had to attempt to willfully call one of the elementals. Was the poem the key? She would have to attempt to read it, and see if it had any effect. Then the hard part : Finding something that caused the book to animate the water of it's own accord, and see if she could apply the power she would hopefully better master by then to keep them from attacking everything in sigh.

She filled a metallic container with her favorite drink, sealing it to keep it warm. "It's going to be a long cycle..."
