Raymond came back to the cage exhausted. He sat in Khazeet's tavern and looked at the small item in his hand, carefully wrapped in a small blue velvet bag. He took off his hat and pulled out of his bag a parchment a quill and a small bottle of ink. He then carefully opened up the bottle and dipped the tip of the quillfeather in the thick fluid it contained.
Taking a deep breath, he started writing:
"Dearest Kelth and Naya'il,
first of all let me congratulate and wish you this day will be the happiest of your lives. I am not the fittest person to talk about marriages and relationships but I am sure you two will have the most beautiful of the lifetimes together.
My humble present, is something I built thinking of Kelth's origins. It is a Hilaiyreen. Each Rashemen's clan has one that gets donated from grandfather to grandson. Since Kelth has long left his homeland and will build his own new clan together with the fantastic Naya'il, I travelled to Rashemen and learned how to build one myself, to be given to the two starters of this new, beautiful clan. A Hathran guided me through the lands to gather the power of four spirits of the rashemen and imbue them in this small artifact. What powers will it wield when you will pass it over to the next generation is all up to you.
To your strength and courage, Kelth. And your righteousness and grace, Naya'il.
I hope this gift will be a sign of joy for your union to pass onto the future generations.
Your friend,
Raymond Tallinger"
He read it twice before closing the ink bottle and rolling up the sheet.
He then attached the parchment to the bag, which contained an amulet embossed with the McEwans symbol and two angel wings crossed in the background, and a glittering blue stone on the other face.
He then got up and started getting ready for the ceremony.
A wedding present for Kelth and Naya'il
