Two copies of the same book are turning up in the cage- one at the Foul Olde Spirit Inn, the other one at the Bottle and Jug.

One is kept by a man showing the symbol of Heironeus, the other one by a woman wearing the robes and signs of Nerull.

Both offer a small reward to anyone who can help them deciphering the content as the hints in this book might lead to some stolen relics several churches try to recover....

There are names of items, names of places but most make no sense. But whon knows... someone out there might know more.

They think some are places inside the cage, some are hints on planes that can be reached through portals.

Currently known missing relics are:

-The Shield of Obedience- a strong shield, favoured by battle leaders, relic of Hextor
-The dagger of Vengeance- a dagger covered in Balor Blood, Relic of Heironeus
-A mithral vial with blood- the god's own blood, Relic of Tyr
-Spear of Slaying- a mighty but filthy, old spear, relic of Gruumsh
-Moonstone Shard- a gemstone with healing properties, Relic of Eilistraee
-Shard of Decay- a battered scythe blade, relic of Nerull
-Drop of Light- a spark of everburning fire, relic of Pelor

The book gives the following hints:
wrote:
battered blade =>a filthy place
bloody blade=> a forlorn place
righteous blood => The vortex of chaos
sharp poker=> a place of violent memories
bright hunter=> You might never want to leave this place
bulwark => a place of broken minds
glowstone=> A haunted place
skullbasher=> Fortress of opression
hotdrop=> A good place to expore
distilled fury=> The pits of contest

Somewhere by light of a candle someone scribbles something into a books margin. Two missing but a good start. The writing is put into an envelope and sent on.

Somewhere, on the planes, one certain adventurer searches for clues. In fact, she has few suspicions and she only needs few details.

A certain drow is putting on an advertisement, which asks for a band of adventurers to help in expedition to the planes. In case of success, the putter of ad promised more generous reward than for participation.

There is a small triumph in the room of Foul Olde Spirit Inn.

Several wines of choice were put on table, petite drow wondering which one to taste.

It was too soon to celebrate, but ridding the greedy hands of two Relics made her day.

She wondered when she could get a chance to get another expedition...

Enjoying his newly regained freedom Mauric sat with a pint at a table within the Bottle and Jug. ((Unless she hadn't stopped recruiting aid by now.)) Overhearing the woman he quickly invited himself to her table. Studyning the book the shard of decay of course caught his attention far more then the rest. Offering his assistance.

He saunters out from the Bottle and Jug after more than a few pints. Reaching the pool of corpses not far away he gaze on the bloated boodies floating face down with their limbs sprawled widely. Fitting place, which is always a reason why it wouldn't be placed in it. - he mused to himself tipsy as he were. First he cast detect magic he focused on descrying any magic recently used. Eftsoon he invoked devour magic both to clear the area from any interferrence and possibly dispelling any concealment on the item itself. Again he casted detect magic.

Mauric's spell does not reveal much but he gets the attention of a Wight that was passing by.

One day, long, long ago it might have been a woman but the body is twisted by the transformation and what once might have been a pretty face now is a predatory mask.

"You are one of those who got the book from my servant.", she states. "Nothing is in there I fear.. I have tried myself. But it is a good start."

Slowly she moves closer, the creature very sure of itself, feeling quite safe here in the Hive.

"There are other places. I only spoke to the owner of the book shortly but I think the filth you are looking for is somewhere located in the tunnels below, the place called Undersigil. Where exactly.... I cannot say."
