Chance Meeting

The loose unit of Anarchists moved through the alleys of the Hive. This area of the ward was fairly close to the Lower ward so they were exercising a little more caution as usual. Many of the houses and buildings in this particular neighborhood had either been abandoned or burned out. It was a spiders nest of jagged rubble and well hidden traps. Very few people wandered this area except hidden units of Revolutionaries and the odd patrol of Mercykillers.
This particular group was led by Phoenix. He had personally rigged this area and was now in the midst of officially mapping it out, much like one would map out a mine field. 1 trap here, another there, more yet over there. He was a master trapper and this was his profession. If he had sent lesser trappers to do this task some may well not come back. The people that accompanied him, both male and female, were happy to be alongÂ… if only to learn a little more about a very dangerous profession and to learn from an expert.
After about an hour of painstaking mapping, the group was ready to return to their lair deep within the Hive when a distinct noise of falling rubble could be heard from the next block over. A plume of dust rose above a nearby building and some cries of surprise and injury quickly followed. Using a form of rogue Cant, Phoenix moved his people through various wall holes and windows into the direction of the sudden noise.
A small group of Mercykillers had become trapped within the debris of a fallen storefront. They had entered through the front door (or what was left of it) in search of Anarchist activity. During their search the roof had given in and buried the lot of them. They now found themselves not only pinned under the debris but also being surrounded by a group of armed Anarchists. One began to say a silent prayer to a nameless god and others tried to unsheathe trapped weapons with injured limbs. Much to their surprise, the Anarchists didnÂ’t outright attack. A few of the revolutionaries protectively stood watch over their brethren, eyeing the streets for potential Red Death squadrons while Phoenix and the others began to dig the Mercy Killers out. It took about 15 minutes to free them. They were pulled from the rubble and permitted to take their wounded from the area. A few words were exchanged between Phoenix and the squad leader but little else was done.
After the injured squad had gone from sight, Phoenix and his group once again disappeared from the street and melded into the shadows. Little would be made of the matter or said by the Anarchists on any official level. It was simply an act of mercy and bore no weight in regards to the war. How the Mercykillers reacted to it thoughÂ… was up to them.
(((any lower level Anarchist or Mercykiller characters can feel free to belong to one or the other “involved” parties and post accordingly as to how you saw the incident play out. RP it here or on the server, as you please. If no PC’s were involved it would simply be recorded by the Mercykillers and forgotten by the Anarchs.)))
