Rhistel took notice of the chant. He was somewhat interested in the Modrone, and for a moment he even considered the statue as well, wondering if Neerepha would have liked it.
He soon discarded the idea, though: chances were she was going to throw a tantrum at him for daring to bring inside the house a sculpture made by someone who wasn't her...
Also, did he really wanted a Statue of a Palace sitting around his house anyway? The answer to that was, of course, no.

But aside all of that, what he was really interested in was the presence of the Scrolls.
He may be too inclined in seeing the worst in every situation, but if what the chant said was true and a high up of the Factions was really interested in one of the wares for sale, he wanted to know who they where and what the item was.

Fists clenched around the flyer edges. Eyes stuck in reading its content for the umpteenth time. The Air Genasi couldn't believe it. She couldn't miss the auction.
She folded the leaflet and put it away, then she went back to her business with a resolute look on her face.

Sasha stopped to read the list of items for auction, before taking a flyer for herself. Dace probably needed a modron to help him with all that pesky paperwork.

On second thought, maybe she needed that modron. . .

A darkhaired woman with pale skin wearing black armour listens carefully to the chant about Xus'es Sarch auction. She makes some notes on a piece of parchment and her lips curls up into a wicked smile before she moves along

The dust settles, the lots have been sold and the bidders make their way home, most seem pleased with their purchases or just the trip out to see some exotic wares, but the bidding does not sit well with some who were present at the auction. One bidder scooped a grand and expensive prize at great cost, much to the chagrin of his rivals and the very next morning Dorland Xef purchaser of the palace statue is found dead face down in The Lower Ward. S.I.G.I.S is full of wild theories but one thing is becoming clear. Somebody wanted the lavish but unassuming statue badly enough to kill for it, and it could have been anyone of the people present on the day it was sold.

*The man known as Corny reads through the S.I.G.I.S. article, snickering openly mutter* Told ya it was ta die fer. *Chugging the newspaper carelessly into the streets, proceeding to rub his chin contemplatively* Lessee, now where'd I put a papa' weight worth a fortune? Or sell one fer tha' matta'... *snapping his fingers, exclaiming* Aha! *pocketing his hands continuing to swag onward casually, whistling a content tune*

*his path taking him back to the Lady's Ward, The Celestial Radiance tavern. Trying to look around for employees to simply ask* Oi <lad/lass>, I reckon tha' there was a soddin' farce o' an auction yesta'day. I'd like ta get ta contact a fellow or few, if'n'ya got a participant list o' some sort or at least how I could contact the fella' auctioneer? Got an inquiry or few, an' mayhaps thin's ta sell, ya see?

After reading the SIGIS in another lazy evening, the Genasi folded the newspaper and tossed it into the fireplace of her bedroom. She moved to the window and cast her frowned gaze to the street beneath it. She was at the auction and she bid high enough to suggest she *really* wanted the statue. Mauric also told her about another way to get it... Was someone overhearing?

Sasha came upon the article while catching up on the latest SIGIS gossip, and the first thing out of her mouth was: "I knew it!"

Followed by musing aloud over why someone carrying a 400,000 jink statue wouldn't hire more bodyguards. Oh well. . . maybe it would turn back up again.

When next she was in the Festhall, she made sure to discuss the event with everyone, and ask anyone who specialized in art what they knew about the piece. Was it really that valuable? What was its history?
