Protector Mark XIV pushes aside the debris disguising the one room shack in the hive ward, and notes that the golem purchased from Root of Nine, a lesser combat model, was standing in a corner waiting. The sentient golem pushes the debris back, and takes out a few bundles of things, some wooden poles, a sack filled with sand, and a helmet, with which he assembles a crude sparring dummy in the center of the shack.
Protector gives a silent command, and the combat golem comes to life, and starts to attack the makeshift dummy. Protector watches the golem do its' work intently, circling the area to get a look at it from as many angles as possible, but it is not long before the golem crushes the helmet, snaps the poles, and punches holes in the sack.
Interesting. . .
Protector sets up another such sparring dummy, this one of more solid construction, and once again orders the golem to attack it. It once again reduces the dummy to a broken pile of useless things as Protector circles it. Being satisfied with what he has witnessed, Protector simply waits and watches it while waiting for its' temporary enchantment keeping it animated to fade. . .
