A Gem And Heironeous Priest

Ea'ral tries to locate the Heironeous priest who sent them to Niflheim to retrieve an artifact of Eilistraee. He starts in the barracks, where he was told the priest was staying.

If he found the priest, he would show the gem to affirm whether it was indeed the real thing, but he would keep it until the priest answered his questions.

"This gem, if you speak the truth, has nothing to do with your clergy, why do you want it? I think it would be better for the both of us if I were allowed to simply return it to one of Eilistraee's priestesses myself, I am one of her followers after all, I'm not going to let this fall into the wrong hands of course!"

Sir Colus Bern is found in the barracks and the dark elf is quickly led to him as soon as he told the Hardhead on duty what he is here for.

The office is small and austere, fitting the hard, bald man sitting behind the table, his red beard neatly trimmed as always, the holy symbol of Heironeus worn around his neck, displayed openly.

Ea'ral is invited to sit, then the human warrior explains with calm voice:

"I was tasked to handle this business in the name of several churches who saw it wise to unite before a greater threat."

Taking a closer look at the item he then goes on.

"This one is genuine indeed. It is good it has be found and you should return it to Eilistraee's priesthood immediately. If you are up to the task champion Deel'nathraeel stays at the Golden Bariaur inn."

"You see mister, I'm quite confused, what is this greater threat then? I can hand the gem over to this person when I leave but, you see, all of these Planar collections, of different deities has been becoming quite common. What exactly are we facing here? A lot of the decent people involved in this unwittingly have no idea of the true reason for such. Is that something you can tell me in confidence? It would go a long way in preparing properly for this threat methinks."

The man leans back, strokes his beard as he thinks for a moment.

"We do not know what the original plan has been. The man who initiated all of this has had his mind shattered by an unusual death as well as by a stay in the Gatehouse at the wrong times.

However what we learned from his rambling indicates that he wanted to use this relics to create something- a God Key he calls it- that allows him to steal divine energies from the powers and make them his own."

"But surely by stealing a deities powers, he would become corrupted by the same forces that make that deity evil? Unless he was intending on absorbing lots of goodly Gods, which also sounds bad! If it's a God key, why can't we just use it to lock the evil ones away, like what happened with Tharizdun?"

"I fear he is did not care if a power is good or evil.
All that mattered to him was the growth of his personal power, the ability to enforce his will upon others.

That said I doubt this device can lock away anything as it is simply not designed to do so."

"Can always have a little tinker with it, but never mind that, at least crazy god power man is, crazy, and not able to do this himself! The more we can prevent the better I suppose, I'll go give this gem in then to that one at the inn."

With that, Ea'ral left and... went to give the gem in to champion Deel'nathraeel at the Golden Bariaur inn.

The drow ua greetws politely and is shown to a table outside where he soon is joined by a tall astral deva, the celestial sitting down with a smile.

Curiously she looks at the dark elf. "Greetings. You want to see me?"
