Talbain Quinsetta stood in the office of one of the many port harbor masters in Dead God's Rock. Right now, Talbain is calling on old favors, reminding the Harbor Master of how he was exactly able to afford that the good things he and his wife enjoyed. Like purchasing the neighboring house and expanding his own. Or that his children have tutors whose fees make them outside the reach of even the well paid. These favors Talbain remind the Harbor Master of.
However, there are even things a Harbor Master cannot do. And granting a permanent license to a ship he's never seen is more than simply pulling out of a hat. Paper trails, signed documents, and the all elusive signature of the higher ups add the complicated matter. Hands will have to be greased and well to make this happen.
A price tag of twenty thousand gold and Talbain can practically birth a warship armed to the teeth with more cannons than necessary, though not literally. Talbain called in his favors to lower the price to that point and unfortunately for him, no lower.
After thirty minutes of haggling over a few items the Harbor Master just acquired, twenty thousand gold is his price for the berth. Talbain is quite satisfied with that price tag.
