Tald knocked on the door of Rhistel's Workshop, after checking and rechecking he was at the right place.

No answer.

He tried the handle, and found the door unlocked. Opening the door, he peered in. A clean room lay beyond, devoid of personal effects. A counter beyond which lay a door faced him. On the far side of the room, two workbenches stood. He stepped inside and closed the door behind him.

"Anybody home?" He called. Some noises from beyond the far door were the only reply.

He walked up to the counter, and it lacking a bell, he rapped his knuckles on it. He looked around curiously. Finally, the door opened and a man stepped through.

...
There was a conversation, there was an offer. The conversation concluded a little while after Tald had put the highest offer yet on the table.
...

"So, will you let me know after you have spoken with the other bidders?" Tald asked?

"I will, yes," was the reply Rhistel gave to Tald.
For probably the first time he hadn't been the uncomfortable one in a conversation, as the man seemed to beat him on weirdness on all sides, making him feel quite at ease for once.

That ended up quite soon, though, because right after Tald left, he received the visit of Carla Denver.
That encounter confirmed a little what was only a suspect he had: women looking for a house were definitely more difficult to deal with, and made a lot more of questions, no matter the race.
anyway, in the end she wasn't convinced by his leasing terms; of course that didn't surprise him, he wouldn't be convinced by them either, still, he closed the meeting with a different proposal and could finally say goodbye to the woman.

When he later had the time, he proceeded to contact the last person who made an offer for the laboratory, informing them of the new bid he received in case they wanted to make a counteroffer.

After hearing of the new bid, Aeron quirked his eyebrow. He had been sure his offer was good, very good indeed. He tried inquiring as to the bidder, but got nowhere.

With a sigh, he shook his head, "No, I won't surpass that offer."

Upon receiving Aeron's response, Rhistel decided to move on and start the legal procedure for the change of ownership of the locals.

For this, he contacted again Tald, informing him he was going to check the records for his documentation to fasten the whole process. There was an implied suggestion to make sure that everything was in order before he went through the files, so to not incour in what could be unpleasant surprises in matter of fees or unpaid taxes.

Tald wasn't worried at all, he was a fully licensed and registered mage after all. He always paid his dues. His Consortium affiliation may have lapsed, but he didn't expect that to be an issue. He set aside a sum to deal with unforeseen taxations due to the transferral of ownership, and thought no more of it. The only thing he checked was to make sure that his Necromancy license was still valid.

As far as he coult tell it was, but it was signed by Byzante the Necrope, and his handwriting was spidery and illegible as always.

Tald shrugged, and reaffirmed his deal with Rhistel.

That done, he started working on his new sign.

The next day, another letter finally reaches Tald:
wrote:
All the documents are in order and ready.
Please meet me at the Hall of Records for the signature of the purchase contract and the validation of the new domicile address.
We'll be also able to complete the trade in this occasion.
