In the dead of night, "Kalina" picks open the door to Ceszar's house and steps in, taking a moment or so to look about. Though not an especially observant interloper, she finds no one immediately awake.

She tip toes off to her temporary bedroom and picks through the drawers, scrounging through her clothes--or what few were left after the fire that razed the Sensbane villa. They, along with several other items, including a small jink savings, some food, beverage from the kitchen, and various camping utensils, get spirited into her knapsack.

Without even so much as a goodbye, she leaves the house, never to return.

(( As an OOC note, by "picks open the door", I didn't mean to imply that she was breaking in. Kalina belongs in that house, and likely had a temporary key for access. ))

Elysium

After Rozalin had left, Animus remained by the side of the confused Roth. The mysteries of her past... her odd connection with Kalina... The poor woman was hurt and confused, not sure what to think anymore. She knew something was wrong with her and out of place. The Sunite had offered to bring out the beauty that was within her, in hopes that it might encourage her, and she had accepted but wished to wait until tomorrow. So he stayed by her side, speaking with her or just sitting there silently, he offered his support as a friend. Finally, she grew tired and he escorted her back to her room in the inn.

Ceszar's House

After that, he remembered that Kalina had desired to speak with him and he returned to the Lady's Ward. He doubted that they were still there and, sure enough, the closed off area was devoid of anyone upon his arrival. He remembered what Roth said about Kalina not feeling well and a pang of guilt hit him. Suspicious or not because of current events and the strange Zeke, he is the surgeon that saved her life and her care takes a priority. Late as it was, he made his way through the ward to the home of the soul stealing assassin. Upon arrival, Animus finds the door locked. Seeing no light in the windows, he assumes everyone must be in bed already. It'll have to wait until tomorrow then. He turns and makes his way back to the inn.

At the sounds of an armoured paladin clanking into his room and trundling around looking through Kalina's underwear drawers, the lover Zeke who had been sharing the room sits up in bed, glaring daggers.

"What the *uck are you doing?"

Elsewhere in the planes...

Elysium

She wished that they would have left her to her thoughts, but Animus and Rozalin seemed genuine in their concern. Roth kept her unattractive face hidden within the depths of her hood not only to hide her lack of beauty, but to hide her puffy, bloodshot brown eyes.

Nothing made sense. She had been quite literally robbed of her memories, and she only had bits and pieces of swirling, churning thoughts to guide her. She had recently discovered that touching certain people prompted powerful, random feelings within her, but neither she nor anyone else could decipher the meanings except for one connection: Kalina Sensbane.

Roth heard the same drum beat that ceaselessly taunted the noblewoman. She was told that she had fleeting glimpses into memories that involved Lady Sensbane. Given both women's recent misfortunes, Roth couldn't help but wonder what was happening.

She sat near the edge of the tranquil waters, the paladin at her side, until she grew weary enough to desire rest. She wanted to stay in Elysium, but she had made the mistake of voicing her desire to "lose her memories in style" to him, and she knew he wouldn't let her stay. Begrudgingly, she allowed him to escort her to the home she now shared with her father, Vorr, and then Roth bade the Sunite a good night.

Despite her weary state, the unsightly woman stared at the ceiling after she had crawled into her bed. Random visions - or were they memories? - flickered in her mind, but at least they had the decency to flicker in time with the rhythm of the unrelenting drums.

Location Unknown

Her eyes were closed, and the curled lashes that often fluttered with coy mischief did not move. Her fair-skinned face was still smudged with dirt and splattered with blood, sweat, and dried tears; the silky blonde hair was matted and tangled.

Her wrists were red and chaffed from where she was shackled to the altar. She had struggled, but her efforts were in vain. The red tunic was darkly stained near her midsection; the brown leather belt that adorned her petite waist was bloodied as well. Her simple leggings were torn from where the armored hand had sought to thwart her attempts at escape, and the soles of her feet were cut and dirtied from where she had been forced to walk. She had not been wearing shoes when she was captured.

The air around her did not move. The heart that once beat with such passion and life did not appear to beat. Her chest did not rise and fall as quick gasps of delight or excitement were inhaled and exhaled. There, inside the dank, eerie antechamber, the young woman remained untouched and unharmed. She was timeless, and only time would tell if she would ever be free.

// Kalina wouldn't have left the door unlocked when she left, if it was locked to begin with. Additionally, is Animus -really- rummaging through her clothing and underwear drawers, at 2 in the morning, in a house that he just broke into?

\\The underwear part was Tildryn's idea, not mine. Like I said, I was assuming haste. Door left unlocked, drawers partially open, etc. And you didn't say 2 am, you just said the middle of the night, which I figured to be between 12 - 4. If the door was locked, no, he wouldn't enter. Since that's the case, I'll just edit the post.
