Gwynnithe lays down in the corner where Kalina sets up a palette, pillows and a blanket for her. They'd had a long day with all the illusions and pancakery but Gwyn had made a promise the night before and intended to keep it.

With her body at rest her mind rose free to search in the spirit realm... In her dreams she hunted for the spirit of one Jach Sensbane in the hopes of communicating with his departed soul. She projects her energies and those in the room trying to lure him out.

And as she searched for his spirit, her dream was deluged by the spirits of others. The cacophony of departed voices reverberated throughout every crevice of her mind, and yet she could not find the one she sought.

Even with her complete focus and determination, she could not locate the man whom she had so strongly cared for. It was almost as if he was intentionally hidden, or perhaps not even dead.

No.. no - nevermind..... he was definitely dead.

Intuitively, Gwynnithe KNEW... somehow..... that Jach was out there amongst the spirits.

After a restless sleep of grim dreams she watched the old man die in so many ways yet couldn't be sure if any one of them were true... She collects herself from her cold sweat and sits up in bed...

~Oh right... The anchors... Was it Dom that had suggested she use some?~

She decides to find a quieter place as there were so many people coming and going from this one room. Setting out to the beastlands after a conjured breakfast she made her way towards the waterfall.

The sounds of rushing water were calming and hypnotic; almost inducing a trance before she'd even started. She rolled out a blanket and upon it lay both Jach's signet ring and her copy of the portrait she'd painted of him. Then an idea struck her...

She put on the signet ring and picked up the portrait... and took one step forward into the ethereal...

For as long as she could hold herself into the realm of spirits she would ask them if they'd seen the man in this portrait, or knew of someone who bore the Sensbane insignia from her ring....

And as Gwyn delved into the spirit realm, she sensed fear and uncertainty within the thoughts of those who haunted the waterfall.

After some time spent asking around, she learned that many a curious traveler swam too close towards the base of the falling torrent, and was fatally trapped in the circular current underneath. Aside from that, there was only one conversation of note that Gwyn managed with the spirits who responded to her calls: She spoke to“Neexy :“ A quirky dryad-spirit whose oppositely-rolling eyes and high pitched voice betrayed insanity.

From within Neexy’s ramblings, Gwyn was able to deduce that a vicious murder took place at the small clearing of land just beyond the falls: Two beings, happily named "Feathered-Hat and Blondie", were enjoying a picnic as Twin brothers – Neexy called them "Gold and Silver" - stood watching from the spirit realm. Gold and Silver eventually stepped out into the realm of the living – exchanged angry words, before Silver slit Feather-Hat's throat, despite the protests of "White 'n Red" - woman who also happened to be clandestinely observing the picnic.

Nothing overly odd about that story, save the fact that no spirit emerged from the Feathered-Hat's body once he was killedÂ…

..But who can trust the ramblings of a barmy, anyway?

Meanwhile, the spirit of Jach Sensbane remained at large.

The following night Gwynnithe has invited guests to her own room; some interested in watching others in helping. Though she herself had not real clue what she was doing she had a few ideas on how to experiment.

The incense she burned had an odd property that induced clairvoyant images. She'd had it tucked away safely in a bag for a while now, a gift given to her from one of the locals. Since Zadara claimed to be entirely inexperienced, as well for the benefit of those watching she explained the process she was going to use to get herself into the right state of mind.

"First we need to diminish our emotions, particularly negative ones. Seat yourself comfortably and close your eyes. Try to imagine yourself sitting under a weeping willow tree. Feel a root growing from the base of your spine down into the earth and meeting with the tree's roots. Let go of your excess energy to the leaves above and the root below. The tree will know how to cleanse the energy for you."

She goes through the motions herself as she speaks.

"Then change the way you're breathing... Breathe in steadily for four seconds, hold it for four seconds, release for four seconds, then hold it for four seconds. Keep doing this until you're in a calm and quiet state of mind.... Now you need to protect yourself from the emotions of others, and discourage the spirits from feeding on your own... Imagine yourself encased in mirrors, all facing towards the outside. Make sure the inside is well lit in whatever color you feel suits you at the time... Try and get as many details as you can pull to the front of you're mind.... This is taking an active role in terms of willing those things away from you.

Communicate with your spirit guide and tell her what you need help with. Be as clear as possible because if you were say asking a cat for help it might offer what help means to a cat."

Animus watches from the corner of the room as Gwynnithe explains what to do to the others. As much as he had wanted to participate himself, Kit's warning of possible danger prevented that. Once everyone that had been invited had entered, he had locked the door to prevent intrusion. His glowing amber eyes peer through the visor of his helm, passing over Gwynnithe and the other participants. He then closes his eyes for a brief moment and invokes his draconic ability to see the unseen. As his eyes open, his now jade orbs continue to view the transpiring events.

This sort of thing was irregular for Kit. Most times, the deader he was looking into didn't get much say in matters. He took off his gloves and busied himself with examining the room while he waited for all the arrivals. He sampled the texture of the floor, the seating. He inhaled the air, noting the vague scent of each person in turn. The paladin of Sune was wearing, what, perfume? Could be Rozalin's.

Shrugging, Kit put his gloves back on, burying his hands in his pockets as usual.

Gwynnithe was a strange one. Innocent, complicated, full of odd power like a baby with a fireball. Styxwash can ruin lives or give them new meaning. Unsure which way Gwynnithe had come out of it, he simply decided to shelve that matter. Her connection to Sensbane was the key here. Kit wasn't sure how much stock he could put into this spiritual endeavor, but it'd be worth it if successful. If she could get Jach Sensbane to talk and name some names, his job would be that much easier.

"It's still cheating," he mulled over in his head as his face scrunched up unpleasantly.

But cheating isn't always a bad thing, and until the hardheads would let him in on the case, it was the best he could get. Even better, this would give him a chance to learn more about the people involved. His list of suspects, accomplices and informants was getting lengthy and cluttered. Sensbane was high-profile, no doubt. For a moment, Kit wished he'd been hired by the Sensbane estate and asked for a few million jink.

Zadara. She's trouble, somehow. Sweet the way a lemon shouldn't be, she was a walking puzzle. Odd shapes juxtaposing to make a picture. You don't question how they all got there, you just look and admire. Doubting Kit would ever get the full story on her, he resolved to see how much more he'd be learning about her spiritual talents.

Standing in the corner opposite of Animus, he listened to Gwynnithe give her instructions. Soon, hopefully, there'd be some solid leads.

The olive-skinned beauty with the tranquil gray eyes paid close attention. As far as appearances were concerned - she followed Gwynnithe’s instructions to the letter. Zadara, of course, had journeyed beyond the realm of the living many times before – though the mysterious woman thought it in her best interest to keep this in the dark.

After some time, she inhaled deeply and focused her attention inwards like a flower blooming in reverse. Her tranquil gray eyes opened and locked onto Gwyn’s – conveying both marvel as well as trepidation. She was the epitome of …”novice.”

“I-I am ready,” she exhaled tentatively. Despite her outward nervousness, she was indeed ready.

...Though not necessarily for what the others had in mind.

"Expand your consciousness outside your body and let go of your physical shell. Try to focus on the person you're looking for... Get lost in a memory, a feeling... Express the desire to communicate with them."

Gwynnithe follows her own instructions invoking a more recent memory of Jach, namely because she didn't have many to work with. She tried to intone her feelings when he'd gathered a few of them up to host pretend robberies, later modified to reverse robberies. She smiled lightheartedly at the thought and for just a few minutes shed all the grief she had been feeling about not having a chance to get to know him again.

"Jach are you out there? It's me Gwynnie! I'm trying to contact you for a few reasons. There's a lot of unanswered questions not to mention I think there's a lot of people who'd love it if you'd let me channel you during a wake we'd like to hold in your honor. Please know wherever you are that you're well loved."

She speaks aloud for the benefit of those not participating but in truth the real power came from resonating the words in her mind.

Animus smiles as he overhears Gwynnithe speak. He closes his eyes briefly to pray. Yes, Jach. Here her call. Answer her so that Kalina, Gwynnithe, Dom, I, and everyone else that knew and loved you can say goodbye. Answer her so that we can find who did this to you and Roth and avenge your deaths. His eyes open and he continues to watch the Gwynnithe and Zadara closely closely.
