Word goes around the city that there are a few items of notice up for voting in the Hall of Speakers.

The first is a bill being pushed forward by the Athar and co-sponsored by the Fraternity of Order, which proposes the creation of a Temple Registry. If passed, the registry would be voluntary, and under a bureau run by the Athar. Most folk seem to be divided as to whether this is a foolish piece of bureaucracy, or a scheme by the Athar to eventually shut down the temples of Sigil altogether.

The second piece of legislation up is a proposal by the Mercykillers, to start construction of a spelljammer port in the Cage. The project is meant to create employment opportunities for citizens living in the Hive Ward, as well as increase trade to the city when completed. Chant around the Cage is that this project is going to be funded with heavy taxes on the guilds, though there are incentives promised as well.

OOC Note: This will be an event in game, held this Sunday, October 18th, at 2pm US Central Time. Factioneers are encouraged to attend! Non-factioneers and members of the Free League can sit in and listen, but only (non-Indep) factioneers can speak or vote.

I just want to kill monsters and get prizes for it. Is that REALLY so much to ask for?

After a long day spent debating, the votes were tallied. The Athar's proposal of a Temple Registry was rejected. The Mercykiller's public works proposal was accepted, pending the creation of a commission to work out the details. . . which were many.

((let me know if you have a character who is interested in being on the commission, btw. I'm not entirely sure what we're doing for it, but if enough people think the RP might be interested we can probably have some back and forth about it.))

Not too long after things are concluded within the Hall, Fritz sets his name forward on behalf of this council/think-tank.

"In the interest of fair play for Hivers, and in the interest of keeping this port from merely being a puppet of the Triad, of course. I wasn't about to bemoan the situation, and not take my time considering possibilities."

Once hearing that the vote concerning the Skybridge proposal passed, Sharon Raynsford offered to help out with the commission.

"You're going to need people that can take advantage of the lanes. That means business partners, big ones that will be shipping and ordering a lot of cargo or a lot of smaller ones. It may be worth checking out Tradegate at the very least."
Sharon Raynsford - Experienced adventurer finding renewed purpose beyond her prime.
Lyanna Wayfarer - Traveler of worlds, cultural explorer, and experienced physician.
Tavia - Bardess, tale-teller, daring-doer.

The Kenku Doomguard Corven leaves a note with the commission:

"It would wish to assist in the construction and arming of the Skydock - it can provide weapons and armor to the future Hiver guards and ensure the overall safety to the project.

Two cycles after the conclusion of the Hall of Speakers meeting, Fraternity of Order Administrator 10, Kaltia Tsaryov, submits a formally noterized application to represent the Fraternity of Order within the soon to be commissioned Skystep Committee.
"What is justice? Two forces collide. Each may have the right in his own sphere. And here's where a queen commands orderly solutions. Those collisions she cannot prevent — she solves. How? In the simplest way: she decides."

Reina sent in a letter to the effect of saying that she'd be representing the Harmonium for the Committee. Very simple.
