(( I find it very hard to believe that there were no people away at the time of the attack. On the surface for example- visiting relatives, working, trading ect.

It is those Issanthis was offering a new chance as they lost everything but their lifes. But anyway, lets move on.))

::So be it. ::

The Syndicate: The Syndicate was formed years ago by various power-brokers in UnderSigil and the city above. It was created as a means of consolidating a fractured power-base that existed yet rarely coordinated or got along. Once all brought under the same organization, they maintained a crude alliance that permitted them to increase their individual power and influences by calling on the power and influences of their new allies. The group quickly consolidated territories and carved out holdings they would call their own. Soon after, they began to increase the Syndicates coffers by investing in the city above; buying out debts, purchasing properties and forging deals with many of the Factions.

The group is suspected of focusing on things that are probably illegal, or at the very least questionable, but has managed to maintain peaceful relations to the Factions of Law that existed high above them on the surface.

While the individual members grew quiet over time, the Syndicate entered a state of maintenance, ensuring bills were paid, debts collected and services maintained in the Village below. Now, however, with the return of Charles Goodman to the city, a spark has returned to the dark halls of the Syndicate Headquarters.

It was time to return to business.

Group headquarter: The Syndicate maintains a compound in the village of UnderSigil. The compound is well guarded and is comprised of an area of several village blocks. A Tavern, meeting Estate, warehouses and many private apartments all exist for the members, their contacts and those friendly with the group.

Goals: To amass as much power, both in a physical sense and a reputation sense, for the members of the Syndicate. To combine the resources of the members, share information and protect each others interests. To continually expand all of the above in any way possible.

Founder/ Leader: The Syndicate was originally formed by the WarShaman of the Iron Tusk Orc Tribe as a means of controlling the area for the Tribe. When the tribe returned to Nishrek, it was absorbed into the holdings of the Consortium. Due to tax and legality purposes, Charles broke it away from the Consortium and maintained it as a separate organization with the Consortium holding a seat at the table under his supervision. Charles Goodman is the current Chair of the Syndicate.

Suggested Alignments: It's for alignments interested in shadowy RP and possible illegal deals. It's not necessarily evil but the majority of it's members might be a little on the dark end of the alignment spectrum. Originally there were 15 chairs but due to the difficulty in maintaining such a number, it has been reduced to seven. Other members can certainly join the organization is various roles not associated with a chair at the table... although the number may rise if it is necessary. If you already belong to the Syndicate due to the RP we used to enjoy involving it, please feel free to simply post here in an RP manner.

Those interested in RP with the group or becoming a member (whether at the table or just as a member) feel free to contact any member currently sitting. These will be listed on this thread for contact purposes only and should never be used in an RP manner without the direct permission of the players involved.

In the crypts, carnal houses and unmarked graves of undersigil the freshly dead become unquiet in their graves. The newly created undead begin to move the groups of Orcs, Wererats and bandits away from their resting places, but they go no further than that, they do not stray from their tombs.

Meanwhile in Undersigil village a dark robed red haired woman baring a holy symbol of Vecna takes one of the seven seats around the table.

Charles opened the door to the main meeting room and looked about. Unlike the rest of the estate house, this room had remained locked and void of activity. The daily operations of past investments carried on in other parts of the property and didnÂ’t require a sitting of the Syndicate chairs. As expected, a thin layer of dust had settled over everything and made the room look worn. He slowly made his way to the end of the table and pulled the chair out. For a moment he looked like he considered sitting in it but seemed to change his mind. He spoke to the aide that stood near the door as he continued to move about the room.

“This room is to be spotless and properly stocked in three days. Remove all but seven of these chairs as well. If more than that returns… they can decide amongst themselves who will get to sit in them. If nothing else that should afford some entertainment for us. That chair” he points “is reserved for the Dustman Factor. Ensure no one else attempts to take it.”

He heads back through the building and back onto the dark street of the protected district in UnderSigil, the Aide close behind.

“Prepare the apartments and ensure the tavern is stocked. We’re about to get back to work.”

Charles let's them know that a potential member has presented himself. One that may be able to facilitate connections into darker markets and within the Athar. He would like to discuss it with them ((in game))

He also informs them that he has hired another Syndicate Hand ((thug)) to help the Syndicate and it's members. He goes by the name Karsh Bruteborne, a Halforc of considerable size. Feel free to use his services as required.

((Only contact him when he's in his HalfOrc form))

The years have passed since Hildmor d'Kridis held a seat in the Syndicate, his right-hand man Krall 'Dreadblade' operating shipping routes from distant primes to fund the more nefarious functions of the Syndicate and, after Hildmor's Mazing his ally went silent, Until now.

Captain Krall 'Dreadblade' of the Black Lotus, has left word within the Headquarters of the Syndicate of his return and the jink he has brought back, curious as to who actually leads the shady group these days.

Doesn't take long to find out that Charles stepped down from leading it years ago. He removed himself from the active roster and abandoned any interest he had in Undersigil. If the Syndicate still operates, it would be under a different chair than before.

(( Is the Syndicate still active? If not I have a character who worked with the Syndicate years ago that has the funding/ connections to re-establish it. Maybe not as a leader but to enable it to work within Sigil again ))
