Danae upon coming in the HoH for her daily rounds requested the nurses to begin taking urine and saliva samples from admitted patients and those seeking treatment. Judging as that there was no traces of anything in the blood work and it was theorized is something ingested, searching the fluids to which whatever "substance" had passed and will pass through could illuminate the mystery. If urine or saliva testing was not practical to a particular patient, she requested that a gauze pad be attached to a person to collect sweat,and test with that.

Danae also began to pen a letter to the recently deceased's family of the death, from what she knew
wrote:Dear Sirs or Madams,

I regret to inform you that your beloved has passed on due to the recent effects of what may ail them. The House of Healing is taking this as a personal hit and will not stop until finding out what cause them to react in such a drastic and sorrowful manner. It is because of this, that we will be performing an autopsy to confirm any suspicions so that others suffering from similar symptoms do not come to the same conclusion as your loved one. I also extend the offer for the House of Healing to provide burial and rites in your choosing for the deceased, and any counseling family members may need.

May times become better,

Danae Gren
Chief Medical Officer of the House of Healing
Factotum of the Sign of One
Once sending off, Danae gathered her bags and supplies to begin the autopsy process, at some point.

There is a several day delay before Argent goes about testing the preserved alcoholic drinks brought in for analysis.

Hes set out a counter with multitude of testing strips for common poisons and also boiling down each sample for what residue was left of the acosted drinks.

Detect magic was done for samples in another set of beakers.

Another test was done in the case it was hidden by annuling magic in sets of samples and observing reactions for the drinks.

Due to the recent pushing by retail merchants for the new "Potential" and being given as a special, this one in particular was being given a more critical eye.

(Apologies for late post because I don't frequently check the forums.)

Several days prior Dion sent whatever remnants were left from the suspected time. Over the seven different samples, none of them threw any alarms save for Fire Giant Whisky (Which proved lethal to most humanoids) and the Potentia. Potential would set off whatever poison alarm there was, but a very mild one; more akin to a narcotic than something designed to kill people. It tested positives in none of the other tests.

It was noticeable that Danae had started to taking to tending to the least "at risk" patients during her working hours lately. Those hours having been cut to fewer and fewer eventually as well, due to the half elf's news. - Though that also meant Danae was more available for advice than actual hands on investigation in illnesses. Thus, the half elf left a note to the other volunteers over the current patients with a strange addiction;

Patients have been found with a similiar substance in their system as with the "Potentia wine" sold by Dion. Continue treating as addiction patients.

And another note was left to Argent;

Attempt to capture a soul of any patient who departs, as it seems all communication is cut off once they "depart" immediately after death, which is not normal.

A curly red haired lady with her hair tousled up walks in to the House of Healing with cautious steps, seeming all together unsure about even being there. As the door behind her clicks shut, she looks ahead to the nurse behind the desk and makes her approach with a friendly smile.
"I'd like to talk to a doctor or.. nurse of some sort." She fold her hands together in front of herself as she looks across to the nurse. "My name is Ronja Leonhart."
(( Is anyone in this guild able to play a small scene out before the 14th this month latest? Its not a huge ordeal, a simple checkup. Will fill in oocly if anyone is keen. ))

The intake nurse offers a cordial smile noting the hesitation.
"We have a number of practioners here from arcane and divine talents to mundane approaches who do not feel comfortable and prefer natural ways to heal."
She takes a form and writes down detail of the womans name.
"How can we assist today?" Observing there was no sense of urgency as of life or death.
"Then I can call the appropriate doctor."

Notes on prescribed herbs

Karasuthran Pattran:
The root and leaves of a small, shrub-like plant with dark green, shiny leaves and thorns, Pattran is used to relax the muscles and encourage sleep. In mild dosages, Pattran causes a general feeling of relaxation, eases sore, strained or sprained muscles, and similar aches. In larger doses, Pattran causes sleepiness. Pattran tastes like a combination of mint and rich soil. (For sleep dosages, user may voluntarily choose to sleep well or, if resisting, save versus poison at +3. Effects last 2d4 hours; if asleep, the user will sleep and awaken normally.)

Prime Dianaberry:
The Dainabush or Sleepberry is a creeping, thorny vine, much like a bramble. Young vines are about 5 mm thick, with 2 mm long thorns. Older vines can become as thick as 10 cm, with curved thorns up to 5 cm long, although this requires many years of growth. Young vines are light green, with 3 lobed green leaves. Older vines grow reddish brown, darkening to black, with leaves, such as there are, dark green in colour. The vines flower in early summer, with light blue, bell shaped flowers. In autumn, it carries dark blue or purple berries, which are fleshy, almost crunchy rather than juicy. The berries are slightly sweet and quite tasty, but have a strong effect on mammals: those who eat them fall asleep. The berries have this effect on mammals only, but a single berry is enough to bring down any man sized or smaller mammal, and given enough berries, even the greatest mammal will fall asleep. There is no saving throw, although the sleep caused is quite normal, and a sleeping creature can simply be awakened. Although the berries can simply be eaten to cause the effect, it is also possible to dry them carefully, and grind them into powder. This powder is weaker (about 2 berries worth needed), but will keep a long time. The powder can be added to any food or drink, but has a very sweet taste.

A note is posted by the front desk of the House of Healing
Rowdiness and unrest have taken the Hive more than usual as of late. All volunteers are encouraged to become more wary. If any unrest occurs in the House of Healing, please contact hired Fated guards or a Kelth McEwan.

Walked in just after the night shift at the House of Healing had started, offering the intake nurse a polite smile as he approached the front desk. Didn't seem hesitant, but sure as hell he didn't seem overjoyed to be there either.

"I'd like to take an appointment with Anthriel for a... specialist visit," he said simply.
"He will already know what it is about, as he was expecting me. Name's Aidan, and I... really hope that appointment book of yours is covered by duty of confidentiality, or we're gonna have problems here..." He added widening his smile a little, the tone of one who had just cracked a joke more than a threat.

Violet would be seen visiting the House of Healing regularly and for the night.  At some point she goes in with a large stack of blank scrolls.  She seems better rested lately, the dark circles gone from under her eyes.  Perhaps what the House of Healing is doing is having some effect.
