A gem found, a expedition lost.
Factor Ta'kan and Ashalle was greeted by the playful Imp Kazuth upon entry into the Great Foundary. Prodding them for any peculiar objects they potentially had gathered. Crowing about his own find as he crawled on Ashalles back blackening her vison with his tiny hands much to her dismay. He offered them a strange black gem in exchange for a bright orange one along with the respite from his pranks. Flitting away cheerfully polishing his shiny price.
The gem iself more of a tin flat shard large as a human Nail. A blackness devouered all light and was surrounded by a black haze. As Kala took it in her hand she feelt it no more, compelty numb to touch but she could still move her fingers albeit she could no longer feel them. Soon she realise that the gem was extremly heavy. like a bar of gold in weight. Gloom sank over the pair as dusk at sundown.
They was not alone however. The privous owner had fallen into a terrible mood as well. Hammering angrily as he swore constantly at his anvil opposit of their research bench. The magic could not be fully read from the object. A chaotic swirl of numerous spells emitted from the dense and compact shard. They saw the resemblance of the matter pertaining to the dead gods afloat in the astral plane. But it was compressed.
Later there would be reports of a massive scale of stillborn babies near the foundary on that day. No other deaths were reported.
Furthermore there was rumours of a catastophy in a remote planar mine spoken throught some of the workforce.

As she had figured that there was something extremely wrong with the stone during her brief examination. The Factor immediately made sure it was moved away from the foundry and Sigil if possible, transferring the artifact away in one of the Godsmen demi-plane laboratories. Shen then made sure the word was passed among her fellow factioners, for those willing to help and investigate the matter had an opportunity to join.

Breach of the Black
Kala, Jall, Saphira and Sacra continued their research on the strange black gem within one of the high security research facilities. Whether it was by accident or the will of the collective beings entraped in the dense prism remained unknown.
The entered a realm of suspended black souls. The black glasslike humaniod forms was making the entire scape. Only the awakened beings rear the rifts to the world beyond their soulscape was responsive. Feelings and sensations drained away within this dark realm and soon they would become one with the forzen and forever a part of this realm. They were disconected from their innermost being, aware and in control of theirselves still.
Indeed it was good to have a gatecrasher. There was several rifts of weak light in the dark realm. They could lead anywhere. Sacra managed to push through her state of apathy and connect to the one leading them back while the others questioned the awakened. They spoke of others that had come before them. A a great violation to the laws of the planes that had been broken. A failed ambition of preservation.
They also learned that this was but a piece one of many. Knowing where it had been found and the preparations made for the lost mine there was no questions about where to look for the remaining pieces.
It was with a eerie hollowness in mind the four godsmen returned. Fear din't seem that frightning any more. Anger didn't burn as Deep. Affection seemed distant and meaningless. Everything felt dead to their touch. What the realm had taken it had kept.

the stillness of her room almost matched the stillness of her body. somewhere in her the heart pumped the blood, lungs heaved to introduce and expel air in her, yet she couldnt feel them. she had her love laying next to her, probably hugged to her, but she couldn't feel her. she knew she hugged her too, but that was simply what memory could remind her.
a mind in a husk, in a sort of flesh golem's body, almost an undead, the way she considered herself now. she could only hope her soul was indeed wholly yet here with her; emmy said it was so for now she didnt doubt it.
she knew extreme melancholia could bring to a similar detatchment from one's body and feelings, but this was kind of awkard. regardless she knew the reasons why this happened, and she's not new to hollow and melancholic feelings. she looked herself in a small mirror and saw a body that didnt feel her own at the moment. a pretty body, sure, but looking so stranger. yet this didnt surprise her. both because her feelings were off, and because she knew how it'd be, more or less. she remembered all, that sufficed to avoid her to give up on struggling to get everything back.
although, how? this was done by an exterior force, not even sure in what manner what was taken or severed from her was.
a mind that moved, memories the only thing yet defining her existance, and she knew those could be altered. a mind solely, could this be what immortality implied? no, she knew several immortals by now, none of them necessarily non-feeling like this.
that place of void and its shades weren't without a reason, a collective mind was mentioned
she fell asleep at some point, her mind or body too tired, apparently, then woke up without dreams during the night. on and off like a switch?
what laws of the planes had been violated? a failed ambition of preservation...
she could see all this as a trial to test her convinction, a logical perspective, a test of will, without the emotional spring. perhaps it will help her in the long term, if she doesnt remaing trapped in such a state of course.
once emmy wake up as well, she asked her to scribe that tattoo she wanted, on the inner side of her right forearm, a love sign, but also a reminder for her detatched self. she pushed herself to perform the routinary acts of affection with her, so not to forget, albeit she barely felt anything.
later that day she met with a few friends. trying sensory stones was suggested, so she would reach Quinn in the festhall to try

The previous night, The word among Sensates is that Factotum Quinn is looking for any information their faction possesses on sensory and emotional impairment. In particular he seems interested in known or plausible treatments for such conditions.
Strangely a private viewing room in the public sensorium in the Festhall has also been reserved for the following cycle. Along with this, A large set of seemingly unrelated sensory stones are reserved temporarily for some sort of experimental endeavor. The selected stones cover a decent spectrum of emotional and physical sensations of varying magnitude. The only explanation offered to curious factioneers is that it is part of some sort of research.
Everything is in order and waiting by the time Jall and anyone who joins her arrives.
