A large purple humanoid-beetle looking creature barely passes through the door of the armory

"The Master has sent us to join the Doomguard, to whom must we speak?"

Xitchak awaits a reply

(( No worries))

Xitchak get's the feeling he maybe waiting for some time. Perhaps it was his accent, maybe his sheer intimidating bulk, possibly the fact he only baths in sand. Only time will tell.

Eventually a tiefling approaches the large Umber Hulk flanked by two Doomguard.

"This creature wishes to join us. You know what to do."

Xaul approaches the umberhulk without fear, this one is known to him.
The Illithid calmly directs the hulking insectoid in its first task.
Not much is said between them as they appear to use a telepathic bond.

::You shall sunder your most prized possesion against this wall of the armory::
::The next instructions will come from either myself or the other Doomguard here::

The Flayer awaits Xitchak's response along with Clando & Spragg noting the umberhulk
will be responsive to orders besides his own within the Doomguard.

Xitchak's shoulders slump ever so slightly when he hears the command. The hulking creature approaches the armory wall. Xitchak turns only to say

Sundering our greatest weapon may not be for cutters with weak bellies... you may want to look away

The Umberhulk then turned back to the wall, lingering an extra moment as his gaze met the Illithid's. The beetleoid then put one massive clawed hand on the wall, followed by the other. Then without hesitation he began smashing his tusked face into the armory wall itself. Time and time again, with full force he flung his own head at the wall, until the two great cracks were heard. then the massive mandibles snapped and shattered against the armory wall.

Now bleeding profusely from the face, the Umberhullk turns to the Tiefling and his cohorts, picks up a shard of his broken tusk and dropped it at their feet.

What shall you have us do next?

Glancing at the mindflayer, Xitchak raises a huge hand to the stumps of what used to be and bows his head.

The flayer watches the Umberhulk break its mandibles upon the armory wall... If Xaul could show expression the way humans do he might have winced, only he did not. If he could have shown remorse for its monstrous companion, it instead would have chosen to smirk... He addresses the Umberhulk in the common tongue this time as he retrieves the remains of his broken tusks.

"Excellent. Now, the next test."

Xaul would lead Xitchak away (should he choose to follow) from the armory to continue the next trial, through the fumes of the lower ward's industrious sectors into winding and sunken alleyways that would lead them to the hive ward. Despite recent efforts, the Hive ward is still overcrowded with many destitute citizens... beggars, thugs and various ne'er-do-wells which populate the ward.

"You shall spread a sack of no less than 500 jink among the crowds here. Your task is to incite some sort of... havoc. The more the better." Xaul states distinctly

Xitchak, without hesitation, followed his Master Xaul Vohs out into the Hive ward. There was a certain smell of desperation and sweat in the air. The Hive ward it seemed was still filled with beggars, refugees, thugs and other such lost berks.

500 jink, and some sort of havoc... Xitchak thought to himself, he had certainty been asked for harder tasks, but vague generalities were not his strong suit.

"We shall obey"

Xitchak turned and walked into the center of a large square filled with a variety of species, most of whom seemed rather destitute, and began to dig. After scooping a hole about 4 feet down, Xitchak turned to now face the crowd that had paused to wonder what was going on.

"Here we hold 500 jink!" Xitchak bellowed, holding up the bag. " We are going to play a game. We will leave it here for whomever can claim it, and we have hidden 50 more bags like it across this great city. (the latter part being a lie...) To those that do not wish to play, that Illithid... Xitchak pointed to Xaul Vohs quietly watching from the other side of the square.... that Illithid will eat your brains as you sleep, wherever you go. (Also a lie but diplomacy was not for Xitchak, intimidation and threats on the other hand.) "All those who get a bag survive tomorrow! Begin!"

Then Xitchak dropped the bag into the hole, kicked some dirt over it and rejoined his master. Together they watched as the population of the square looked to the hole, then back to them, then the hole. As Xitchak turned his back to follow his master back to his compatriots, the sounds of panic stricken peasants clambering could already be heard. As they turned the corner Xitchak heard the sounds of a rock being hurled through the window of a supply shop. Most likely some shovels were going to be passed around into the scavenger hunt, slowly turning riot.

Xitchak hoped this would be enough to bring him to the third task.

Xaul watched his prized companion work and dig, he observed as he relayed his offering to the crowds of the hive ward and looked on as the 'hulk sauntered away from the gathering mass of curious bashers and beggars. His thoughts echoed a snicker at Xitchak's ominous threat to the people. It wasn't long until the mass had pickaxes and shovels in hand as they dug away at the fresh mound dug into the cobbled streets... shortly after one berk picked up the bag, another would turn to use the tools of work into ones of destruction as they began to attack each other, fighting over the deposit of a mere five hundred jinx.

The flayer watched in satisfaction at his pets efforts as they soon turned into a display of utter chaos

"Very good, Xitchak. Come with me, the next trial will not be quite as easy."

Xaul would lead the umber away back into the smoking fumes of the lower ward before things would get too risky for them to remain. As they arrive into the industrial quarter of the city of doors Xaul points out to Xitchak the floating Dabus which are about, repairing various buildings and undoing the various efforts of the most recent Doomguard trials.

"The next task is for you to disrupt the work of the Dabus. Specifically, you must keep them from trimming back the razorvine for an entire day. Do be cautious, as the Lady will not be pleased if something were to happen to them. Direct interaction should be avoided."

Xaul instructs to the massive companion. He strokes the 'hulk's antennae affectionately as he urges him to go forward and continue his next task.

"If you do well, I'll reward you with a new set of tusks..." The flayer assures his cohort.

Clando watches on, satisfied with the direction the flayer is leading the umber hulk.
