The sound of footsteps echos through a dark place. It sounded much like boots upon a marble floor but what the floor was made from none could tell for there was no light in this place.

A nightwalker smoothed his hand across the ground and felt for the arrows he has scratched here long ago.

He followed in the direction his scratch marks pointed and found his way.

His hands slid up a wall and felt along it's face until he touched the rim of the great seal. Gond's handy work, Mystra's enchantments.

He fumbled the surface and examined the thing by touch. Huge and intricate, divine and perfect. Thirteen, held behind for an eternity.

He felt her presence watching him. The Onifhet child nodded acknoledgement to his goddess in the absolute of this darkness. He knew if any could see him in this place it was her.

He ran the claw like tips of his shadowy fingers down the seal. This thing couldn't last forever, nothing ever did.

In a dark and eirie disused sewer pipe leading from undersigil into the basement of the armoury Kail sits in solitude with little more than a candle for company.

He focuses his mind on not the flame of the candle but the light it produces. Very slowly the corridor becomes darker and darker and eventually the flame appears as if gone out. Then from the darkness the image of the flame returns, not extinguished at all, only the light unimagined.

Kail smirks to himself.

So simple, Fire without light, this could have uses.
