Baffeled that they even considered it to be true. If they are this stupid it is no wonder this world is dying. His gaze lingered on the Knight who suggested to kill them. At least one of them have a fraction of sense left. As for the rest their naivity and over zeal to be true to what is just will have to be a card to draw against them. They even gave an good suggestion to how their own demise should be deviced. To give their Little stronghold to the demons when they strike from within. Or are they acually cunning adn will lure us in with a false sense of safety.

*He jumped from the horse pretending to have failed to panic. He spoke in a pleading uneven shrill trebeling voice as he was approaching the commander quickly with his hands extended towards him desperatly falling on his knees Before the commanders horse laying his right hand on it's front leg while the other arm dangled weakly at his side* Quickly by all that is good take us away from here! They are not far behind! *he tossed his head violantly at the road from which they came this was an attempt to whip up fear and unrational thinking discolored by emotion*-I never wanted this! I Went back to search for my poor mother but all their was a mutulated corpse blakned and eaten away by monstrosities I can't even phantom. *he sobed wildly* I only joined up with these exentrics to return home. But never again will I see the slopes of Bright Sentry! *with that he gave the horse a faint shock of eldricht magic enough to startle it greatly but not leave a mark. At the same time ((assuming he Controls his mount as a minion)) he sent the skeletal horse in the other direction in full gallop aming to create confusion on both sides with possibility of riders falling out of their saddles* -They are here!! *he shouted in utter fear* The animals feel them!! *attempting to startle the horses even further*

The first knight listens to Ayase first.

"Of course even in these desperate times we will offer you shelter though it may come to it that every able bodied person must lend a hand in the city's defence. That being said you will be safer behind the walls than out here...

He trails off apparently he has heard what Dorian has said.

"You have heard of the order the man in the gate house speaks off? Perhaps you can help us decide what to do with them."

He seems to be about to say more but at this point Mauric falls from his horse. The reaction they get from the Heronite elite is one to be expected. They stand stoically and watch and it is reasonable to assume that mounts chosen by paladins to battle demons will not be easily startled. Mauric would feel the calming aura of courage from the knights wash over him, clearly they believe Mauric is as terrified as he says and this seems an act of compassion and mercy to steady his frayed nerves.

"Your friend appears unwell we can have someone see to him, but for all his ranting he is correct, they will be here soon and anyone left dowm here will not be treated with any mercy. Come let us retire to the city."

As the immediate threat of mask removal withdraws, and seeing the results of Mauric's performance, Dorian relaxes, releases his grip on the spell and his holy symbol and speaks.

"You are wise in your assessment."

He leaps from his steed, and commands it to leave.

"Let us make haste for the safety of the walls. All questions can be dealt with then."

Not the ideal situation of course... they may still demand he remove his mask. He mentally ticks off his list of prepared spells, considering which may aid him best should he be faced with the need to escape.

And maybe, just maybe, the opportunity will arise to get one over the Guvners.

ayas stared at mauric for a few moments that in her head inflated to immense lapses of time in which she saw flashes of violence. but she controlled herself, easing her mind, and kept cool, looking back to the kinght, nodding weary like

''thank you sir. ''

looks back to mauric, shaking her head and sighing

''poor man...''

As they talk the squire dismounts and begins helping Mauric to his feet.

He kept the act up grasping the arm of the squire tightly. -Quickly escort us to safety. Even though you are strong you won't last very long against them *he pleaded*

He did not like being led away by a force that could dispatch him at their whim. But the rouse had failed. And fighting them in this position was just impossible.

The knights keep a tight ring of steel around their guests, they turn as one and escort them towards the gate house. Trapped inside stands two men, one pale and gaunt the other hooded and wearing dark robes.

ayase follows without adding much anything else for now. still bothered at both her companions. still have to understand in what manner the two men are ''trapped'' inside a place of the town those knights defend

//proceeding from the chalice thread///

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

''all right then'' once the first gate she made is closed, ayase chants the formula for the powerful dimensional spell, bending and thorning space and time in a single circular spot that connect the place they want to reach to the one they're in right now. across it a familiar landscape would display, a double stone archway, a tower , and more mist

The warlock looked behind them before he turned to the newly opened portal. Leaving without imprinting his usual hallmark? Well perhaps there would be a chance to set things right later. For now ganing the good eye of Yanek had priority. He walked with hasty steps through the portal. -No time to waste! Im sure Yanek have missed his toyboy here.
