"And aren't we funny..." he almost murmured to himself, hard to tell by his tone if there was irony in that.

"But thoughts are indeed more complicated to eliminate than the ones holding them. Still worth a try, I suppose, considering your philosophy."

He then shifted his gaze slowly from the plates to the ceiling, following the rust trail. He turned around only when the other started mentioning spells and objects, a just barely annoyed look on his face. He seemed to be about to reply something to that, but just as soon as he opened his mouth he immediately closed it again, shaking his head to himself, as if he had just made up his mind: it wasn't that important.

"Points of view, yes... where would we be if there weren't as many as we are. And if everyone really had destruction in mind as their own primary purpose, like you do... If complete destruction was possible at all... well, there would be probably no one to ever testify that.
Balance serves everyone, apparently... it lets us struggle to achieve what we will probably never get." He concluded in a low tone.

"And what of your own thoughts of this very matter? Allow this to fester and it will soon consume you in whole. A disinherited prince seldom settle peacfully without his former throne. They will return and methinks yours will suffer from it before any other."

He bent down kneeling before the desk so his head was just in line with the board. Twisting a lonely pin in the outskirts slowly until it lost attachment balancing it so it stood up a few seconds as he released his hold but eventually fell.

"The verse cares little for what we like or don't like. Why should one concering himself if anything is perceived or not? I view balance as a compromise, it is accepted since the loss one stands to recieve if one attempts to fullfill ones own will. None wish to share anything and none wish for this balance but out of fear and self-preservation it is accepted. It has no value in itself and can only last so long before the primary will within us topple it over."

"My thought?" He replied quietly, turning to face him again and looking with slight interest at what he was doing at the desk, focusing part of his attention on it only now.

"They failed once. And playing the same cards at the same table over and over won't get them anywhere.
They didn't accept balance as a compromise and grew straight into their destruction. Why should it be any different now? I am not concerned."
He paused slightly, then tilted his head.
"But yes, we do have some interest in them, nevertheless."

"What do you know about Timlin? There are individuals destined for greater things. Beings that can spark change. But without them their dreams crumble and their empires become ruins. Is this the shadow of Timlin that skitters through our streets shuning the light that will disperse it? Has the successors surpassed their master's ambition?"

He picked up the pin in a pinch between his thumb and indexfinger twisting it back and forth a few times and straightened his posture standing up. Inhaling deeply as he canted his head looking to the board. No doubt seemed as some troop deployment.

"You will fare poorly for underestimating your advisary. They would still cover in their hiding hole if there wasn't something that could bring.. balance to their disposition. But perhaps you are right I could be overestimate them. Fools fighting for a long lost cause on the brink of extinction making their last charge. It could be either. But would you like to take the risks that comes with ignorance? They failed once so they will likely learn from it and if they fail again they will learn from that again."

He listened at him in perfect silence, then shook his head slightly. "Not being concerned doesn't necessary means underestimating.
And while what you say it's true, and they probably did find... something that could help their cause, their actions are still too reckless for someone in their position."
He crossed his arms on the chest again, eyes staring absently at the pins on the table. "They have crawled out of their hole too soon, if you ask me. But again, this doesn't mean I intend to ignore them until it's too late. On the contrary."

He finally averted his gaze from the desk to look back at the man; when he spoke, his tone was resolute, giving the slight impression that everything said until then was actually just meant to lead to this.

"But the truth is, I'm more interested in knowing your thoughts on the matter, instead."

"Of course you are as your own thoughts are quite known to you." His answer hanged in the air for a moment.

"No beveiled secret nor hard to for the arrowhead of a guess to pierce the target's eye. I will have them destroyed utterly. Every book will be burned, every object enflamed and turned to ashes. Their hiding holes erraised to the last stone. As for themselves I am far less benevolent than the forces that spared them. Everyone affiliated with them will be slaughtered. Their remains cast into the negative plane. Annihilalated to the last breathing child. What interest me however is whether or not you will assist me or not. My repute of infamy need not redund at you and tarnish yours. None will learn of your involvement unless you share that yourself."

The warlock turned his head slightly towards his shoulder just enough to let Rhistel see him flashing a grin before turning back.

He unfolded his arms and dusted off his ashen blue jacket, straightening it with what would seem a completely useless gesture, considering that his clothes were in perfect order already.

"My involvement doesn't need to be a concern of the masses, nor a mystery either," he replied in a plain tone, raising his gaze from his jacket to the man again, "yet, I am not willing to end up visiting the Prisons anytime soon, and I hope neither are you."

"Thus said... I will not only assist you. I will also give you information about their locations, name you some of their agents. Will share speculation about one of their... assets, we may say, and leave it to you... along with Lightbringer, should it be recovered."
He paused again, and folded his arms back on his chest.
"I will ask for two things in exchange," he then added, tilting his head.
"The first is one of them: his end belongs to us and I need him to be brought to Ysgard.
The second is what he stole from us."

He shifted his wieft to his left leg while turning halfway around his unscathed shoulder pointed at Rhistel and the door looking directly at him now.

"I had enough of unnecessary involvements in legal afairs. I do believe you to be couth enough shun such snares if need be."

"Timlin himself? Dangerous, very dangerous to attempt to deal with such a man longer than one must. He must be slain while weakened if he hasn't alredy regained his strenght somehow. If he would against presumption still be alive after near a millenia in the maze that is. If we kill every grower exept Timlin the living would be worth more to their cause than the dead. If it be any other man you speak of I see no reason to not agree to the terms offered. If you do intend to execute him I would ask to bear witness to this myself although I care Little for whoms hand wring the last drops of life out of him. I would also see the remains destroyed never to rise again." His tone spireful ad he spoke of the opposing Factol.

He fully turned to face Rhistel at this point.

"So what was stolen from you and is to be retrieved at such a hefty price?"

He waved a hand in a vague gesture, as to dismiss the problem the other had brought up, "I wasn't referring to Timlin, of course. I would find rather pointless to propose such a deal to you.

Name is Mullcare, he infiltrated our ranks after his own faction had been wiped. Useless to say he abused our resources and his status to further his plans regarding Timlin's return... Something I'm really curious to know about, I must admit."

He lowered his head for a moment, as if pondering on something, then raised it again to meet the other's gaze. "I have no precise knowledge of what his fate will be, but you are welcome to follow in Ysgard and find out by yourself, should you want. In case you will not like it, in a plane where the victory of the fittest is the main rule I'm sure a solution can be found...

About what he stole from us, instead, it is really of minor importance compared to his capture. And if not the object itself, I'll gladly settle for the knowledge of what he did with it and how did it serve his plans.
It is a spoil of the Blood War we are talking about. A Tanar'ri soul," he finally concluded, his stare briefly analizying the demeanor of the man in front of him.

"Would you think of it it as an acceptable deal?"

As Rhistel dissmissed the notion of the man being Timlin Maurics tone fluxated again and were less severely contemeptful.

"I trust you have proper methods of dealing with traitors just like we have a preculiar sundry of mean to fully make them appriciate entropy before it claim them. I expect every thing to be gleaned from him and acted upon accordingly. I will even endow you with a set of interesting devices towards that end."

He lowered his head and glanced thoughtfully towards his right side just at the base of the rigourous bars.

"A caged force of ruin I cannot have that.. You may have the secrets of this Tanar'ri but I would like to have the demon itself once it revealed Mullcare's agenda. If it somehow have learned too much itelf well then this creature is set for annihilation as well. Bound into a gem I presume. If so we can free it from the crystaline prison and force it to relate what it know about Timlin's return as well as the agenda of this Mullcare." His tone adamant, Rhistel would sense that it would take a lot to make the warlock reliquish the Tanar'ri's soul in what he thought it's current form to be. If it was a ruse to take focus from the fate of Mullcare he would no doubt smell success.

Looking up to Rhistel again canted his head slightly as he spoke again while making a circular hand gesture.

"Lightbringer comes with us if found. If Timlin's body is found we destroy the last mote of these remains. The Doomguard will deal with eradicating any holds the Growers may have outside the Cage of which you will inform us when known. Mullcare is to be delivered to Ysgard with an armed escort and dealt with as the Fated see fit. The demon will find a sanctuary here at the Armoury and be taken into the ranks of the Doomguard once freed and interrogated if in such a position where it can be kept alive without compromising the end to a possible return of Timlin or the Growers themselves."

"If that is indeed our covenant then it is acceptable."
