A frightened young boy arrives at the Armory and hurrily delivers a parchment in the hand of the first person he encounters. If questioned, all he can say is that a "giant in full armor" ordered him to deliver it with a most frightening voice.
The message in the parchment is short, and written in extremely regular characters. It isn't signed, nor does it contain a return address (or any address, for what matters).

The place will be in the outskirts of the Hive adjacent to the Clerk's Ward.
The time is irrelevant.
Meanwhile, some bubber in the Hive claims to have seen an iron colossus walking in a specific point near the Clerk's Ward and then remaining completely still for a whole day, and then more. Some hivers just blame it on the dabus and styx it, after all it looks pretty much like another statue.

Mauric took the note from the hands of the child forcefully. His usual claculating calm had been broken by frequent outbursts of anger following the trial.

"What is this? More useless forestallments? He read the parchment with visible disgust, if he could had made use of his other arm he would have shaken some answers out of the boy but as it was he couldn't. "Who handed you this?" He questioned sternly. Watching the boy dashing off as he gave the answer.

He would ignore his usual precautions and simply rally those present at the time and head to the location given. Even though giants was numerous they wasn't that numerous that one could not be spotted in a limited area he figured.

The iron giant was indeed not hard to find. The holes made by its sheer weight could be tracked by the blind. It was beyond aspects that might have needed persuasion. It was made for entropy and would not hesitate nor swerve from it Mauric thought as he peered up at the impressive construct. He could not be more pleased with the odd finding. Considering all the recent problems unknown to most this was a entropic blessing indeed. Perhaps they had relied to much on flesh where metal serves so much better he thought.

Later at the armoury a rather unusual inciation rite took place that would mark the walls of the Armoury for ages to come. With the assistance of Eloe they engraved the Doomguard emblem on the constructs torso making the ownership clear for all to see. It was given the name Entropy Engine as it was henceforth known as within the armoury and beyond.

Inside the storage room, its new home, the Engine waited motionless.
As a prototype, its reasoning capabilities were superior to those of standard Ayuni golem units, yet still severely hampered by its complete lack of a concept of self. Yet, it had had hundreds of years to elaborate on the Imperative, and in such a long time even a rudimentary intelligence would grasp certain concepts.
Gone were the days of Ayun, when the iron hordes turned on their creators under the influx of the Imperative; mindless destruction was no longer sufficient. This it had learned during its long days in the Gray Waste.
For now, it was determined that the best course of action was to become an instrument of the Doomguard. Still, the Engine's priority rested with the Imperative. The moment that the Imperative and the Doomguard's objectives would diverge, the Engine would have known very clearly which path to follow.
