Rylif walks into the Faction Hall and goes to a dinning table where Alfred Carpenter dines. He sits by the clerk and orders a meal with a glass of wine and makes sure there is nobody around before Rylif starts talking.

I apologize for imposing on you during your break time, but there are some things I'd very like to get my hands on all the documentation we might have on this E-NOW organization. Naturally, I am more than willing to compensate you for your efforts and time, just name the price.

Rylif smiles, and takes out four small coin bags and says

Each holds twenty five jink, a total of one hundred, enjoy your meal and have a good day.

Rylif leaves a few coins to pay for his meal with some extra coins for the tips. He then stands up and empties his glass of wine in one fell swoop and heads towards the exit.

Alfred sends a message to Rylif

R,

It appears that the E-Now group are either in hiding or defunct for the moment. Therefore it would be a waste of effort to even take any actions in this area until such a time as when they become active again.

I did initiate a search for information, but they were a disorganized bunch of addleheaded coves who caved in under some local backlash, so not much to go on.

What I can give you is reports of their activities during the time they were active ((ie: you could read their forum posts and consider them IC knowledge as long as its clearly something the Fated could know about through their agents)) and limited information about purchases they made and some points of their operations. Regarding membership, we have descriptions of a few members and some names. Whether those berks are still in Sigil we cannot say.

After carefully studying all the reports and documentations Rylif writes a letter back to Alfred Carpenter. The letter reads as follows:

Sure, some of them were addlecoves. Who else barges into Hive Ward and starts giving their jink away for free.

But some of them might actually be a very good scammers. Let's think for a moment about what happened in the Hive with the whole E-NOW business.

Bunch of addlecoves brings in a small private army and a huge amount of non-taxable jink into the Hive Ward, under a pretense of doing charity work and they start evicting berks out of their shacks in order to destroy and to rebuild them.

Then orcs tag along, in addition to small private army and the moment someone expresses their disdain towards orc, the sods are caught throwing bag into a river. ever since that moment everything and everyone in Hive go barmy and no longer want E-NOW's charity and things start getting violent.

So here's the thing, if it is no longer welcomed then it's not helping anyone. And if it's not helping, then it's not charity, hence it's taxable.

And here's one more interesting bit about evicted berks, that is documented. Some of them were "bused" to new workplaces under armed escort. In other words, they were forced to work against their will. And that is a definition of slavery, which is very much goes against charity principles and which is very much taxable. And even if it isn't against their will, I can just find and pay off one of those berks to testify otherwise in the court.

Either way, most of those addlecoves are gone into a hiding and there isn't much we can do about it, however we can always freeze their accounts if they have any or claim their property as a compensation for their tax evasion fines.

But bar that, most of them are a small fry anyway, the main dish is Nelly La Meor and her La Meor/Senshbane Industries. She's been dropping tax-free jink into the Hive and E-NOW like there was no tomorrow until all hells broke loose in Hive Ward.

That means she owes us a huge sum of jink in taxes and fines she managed to avoid paying by dumping those into E-NOW before bailing on them.

R,

Very well. Pursue your interests as you will. I shall follow your exploits with interest. If you need further information i may be able to help, of course, with the usual gratuity.

It should be noted that you are beginning to get a name for yourself in our ranks. Take care of jealous rivals who may not be happy with your rising influence. However, there should be those now who you can call upon should you need them, providing you pay them well.

wrote:To AC,

I think I've nailed down the base taxes that La Meor evaded thanks to her investments being considered charity. La Meor, however ceased the operation and E-NOW went down that means following should be taxed:

Hemp ropes used to cordon off dangerous areas - 2000 units of rope hanks; 50 foot, 10 lbs, 1 jink per unit: 2000 jink.

Craftsmen - 20 skillful craftsmen, working for daily salary, 3 jink per day, 15 days total: 900 jink.

Architects - 5 professionals, 100 jink per week wager, for the duration of two weeks total: 1000 jink.

Urban Planners - 5 professionals, 120 jink per week wager, for the duration of two weeks total: 1200 jink.

Inn rooms and meals for the above, payed 30 days up front, one jink per worker: 900 jink.

Lodgings for displaced people for 30 days (includes all Inn rooms, meals and transportation to and from the Hive daily for 15 full families: 1543 jink.

Armed guards protecting jobsites, busing systems, policing. Salary for 30 professional guards-15 jink per week, 2 weeks total: 900 jink.

Inn room and meals costs for guards, payed 30 days up front: 900 jink.

Purchasing of signs from local artisans: 257 jink.

Construction materials for 15 houses (includes all lumber, mortar and necessary material): 4260 jink.

Demolition removal for 15 houses: 1500 jink.

12 full wagons of cheese distributed to locals: 600 jink.

A team of professional divers who combed the river for a bag: 300 jink.

15 Local residents hired as representatives, 1 jink per head salary, 30 days: 450 jink.

All exotic meat brought in by the Iron Tusk, while under La Meor and E-NOW: 730 jink.

A division of Crimson Brotherhood soldiers for 30 days: 3000 jink.

Inn room costs for above (30 days - Meals, etc included): 900 jink.

Materials and construction cost for the erection of 5 open Forums: 1000 jink.

Construction of a full school structure(all materials and additional labor are included within the cost): 1300 jink.

3 Town Criers, 3 jink per day, 30 days: 270  jink.

All of above are base taxes, however constantly increasing interest and fines are applicable to it. Not to mention the fee for audit, Fraternity Filing expenses, legal fees for Fraternity records and last but not least - the expenses for highly qualified lawyers.

Also, I'm trying to find some of those relocated families and other sods who got their houses destroyed without of their consent  and who didn't got new buildings from E-NOW. If I'm lucky I might also find some berks who got bussed off to the actual work. Then we might be able to charge La Meor/Senshbane for unsanctioned slave trading and charge even more taxes and fines.

But for now, give me the stamp and I'll take what I already have to the court.

After his case against La Meor/Senshbane Industries was denied, Rylif would take his mind off the temporal setback, by poking around tax declarations for the name of Richard Vaslord.

And just to make sure that the good administrator was impartial in his decision, Rylif would pay some diggers to dig up whatever they could find on Vaslord's friends, family and business partners, if he had any.

Should he find any close family or friends, Rylif would audit and fine them for avoiding tax payments, be it breathing, distraction or an eyesore taxes.

Also, Rylif would study the income sources of any large sum, transferred or declared by Richard Vaslord. He would, then attempt to track their sources and to study them for any abnormalities and possible tax evasions.

All of it would be done purely out of boredom, he'd say to his colleagues, simply to distract him while his lawyers would work on complaint and appeals forms, provided by very thoughtful Administrator Richard Vaslord.
