A Tax Holiday!

Angry factotums start to wander the Halls of Records tracking down late reports.
Angry Factors go storming into the offices of tax collectors and auditors following reports of missed appointments floating in en mass
Each of these find a cacophony of melancholy and apathy having spread throughout the halls. In one room, tax collectors sit at their desks, staring aimlessly at closed ledgers. In another, two auditors attempt to goad each other into bludgeoning one another to death with books, but unable to work up the initiative, in a third, a clerk had managed to hang himself from a chandelier... several others gathered in a circle beneath it, staring up, it is unclear whether from envy or apathy.
As word of this madness floats up to the Higher ups, fearing an attack upon the faction, the decision is made to close the Hall of records and suspend operations until the matter can be sorted out. As the doors are locked and guards posted, those able to maintain their will and composure are sent out to collect pencils and other sharp objects to keep the remaining namers from harming themselves or each other.
