I hereby request the Certificate of Birth for a boy named Shea, living in 45 Foundry Plaza, Lower Ward.

It is needed in ongoing investigations concerning rogue Harmonium personel which is making this request most urgent.

Hograth Thorn, Measure II Harmonium.

I have forwarded your request to the Hall of Records as this would fall under their scope. Certificates of birth, etc, are filed by the Fated and managed by them. I am, however, asking them to act with a sense of urgency on your request.

The following is sent to the hall of Records

Rhistel read carefully the request that seemed to have made the top of the pile of documents despite having just arrived.

"rogue Harmonium personel."
Curious. He wondered what that could be about.

He read both messages again, focusing on the required informations. A boy and a Harmonium.
Curious indeed.

He turned to the Handler showing her the documents. "I'll take this one," he said simply before heading toward the archives.
He had some time to spare, it wasn't going to take too much to look over those informations.

Armed with the boy's address it does not take long for Rhistel very long to find that according to a census taken five years ago that a Shea Mullcare is registered as living there. With his full name he is then able to search the records to find the birth certificate. From it he would learn that Shea was born eleven years ago to Elizabeth Heynes of no faction or occupation and Robert Mullcare a Factotum of the now defunct Expansionist Faction.

He reviewed the informations about the boy twice, as to be sure of what he was reading.
He hadn't been in the Cage long enough to know everything, but had been in the Cage long enough to read anything he came across, and documents about the Growers were no exception.
Hard to forget, as he had a liking for some points of their philosophy as well.

Too bad they decided to grow right into self destruction. I wonder if that counts as a lesson learned...

He considered the time spent on the search for the child's documents, and after making a copy of them ready to be delivered, he decided to take his search further, looking for any other documents regarding Robert Mullcare in their possession: current activity, financial and criminal records... everything. Also, he went through the SIGIS editions of the past weeks, trying to figure out if there was any mention of an event that could match the one he was researching about. ((hadn't heard the rumours himself))
He was sure the hardheads could wait a couple of hours more. It was just as if he was working for them, after all, wasn't it?

Should the portal information be readily available, it is promptly sent from Garens office.

Rhistel would find information on Mullcare much easier to find than he might have been expecting. The Fated have a large file on him. Apparently after the dissolution of The Expantionists Mullcare joined the Fated, and did very, very well for himself. A master of binding spirits he used them to gather information which he then turned into profit. He rose to the rank of Factor before disappearing on a trip to Baator. After reading through past editions of SIGIS Rhistel would find an account of the incident in The Lower Ward and the Harmonium Notary's baffling assault on a child and subsequent flight to The Hive.

Garen meanwhile would receive information from the Bureau in charge of The Portal ledger telling him that there is a portal to The Outlands that comes out a days walk away from Fortitude in The Hall of Records, the Portal Key is a shovel. There is a portal to Fortitude directly in the estate of the Lanel family in The Lady's Ward. The key is unknown.

Well, that became even more interesting... I wonder if it will mean trouble...

He found himself toying with the idea of omitting Mullcare's implications with the Expansionist before forwarding the child documents to the hardheads, but soon discarded the option.
It really wasn't worth the danger... or the hassle.

He finally closed the parcel containing the copy of the child's document, adding a small and rather plain looking note to them:

As per your request, here are the documents regarding one of the subjects of your investigation.

Namer Rhistel Aidan of the Fated.

After proceeding to send everything to its destination, he went back to Robert Mullcare files, looking for informations about his disappearance, mostly when and how it happened, in hope to find copies of any report of investigation... should there had be one...
With the date, he would also check the newspaper archive again for any other side informations.
He really didn't like using that resource for his researches, but he had to admit that sometimes there was something useful in that piece of crap that was the Sigis.

Also, caught by a sudden thought, he decided to research on the wife as well, Elizabeth Heynes.
She was unemployed at the time of her child's birth, and now she was apparently left alone with the kid. Did her financial or occupation status change in the meanwhile? And if not... who was caring for the two of them now that the husband was missing?
