Justicar Charae received the notice and penned her response, attaching the requested documents. She then sent her servant Kanima to deliver it.

You'll find the requested documents attached. I will also inform Uran to report to the Fraternity. As I am presently preparing for an off-world assignment and may be gone for some time, I'm currently unable to appear in person.

Attached to the letter is Charae's license to own and purchase slaves, signed and approved by the Fraternity's Caterina Arnders. The next document is the written agreement between Uran and Charae that the elf would serve the justicar for one whole year. Uran's signature is on the document. The third document is the registration, which also shows Uran legally signing away one year of her freedom. Lastly, a Sending scroll is attached to the bottom, in the event the judge wished to contact Charae about the matter further.

Then Garen waits for Uran to arrive as requested. He also sends a message to Caterina.

I am to speak with a contractual slave to ascertain validity of their contract of servitude. I require you to act as her council in this matter. We will not be discussing right or wrong of the Contractual Master nor are to look for morality of the contract. I am simply to look at the validity of the contract and wish to ensure the signee is properly represented as it is my belief they are not properly equipped to do so themselves.

Please come to my office at 3pm to discuss the matter.

after uran'sel gets back to her place from the great bazar where she resupplied of food and other certain things, she receives the notice with a blinking suprised look, regardless of how it is brought to her (perhaps by kanima?). She tucks her things away , and sits some moments to think, asking meanwhile , to who brought the message, if charae is gonna be present at the meeting , and if not, why

Caterina would arrive at Garen's office ten minutes early having made herself familiar with the case. She knocks and then enters.

"Hello Garen. You are well I hope?"

Garen smiles at Caterina when she enters. He motions to a chair.

"Good to see you, Caterina. I hope you have been settling into your new role satisfactorily.

We're still waiting for Uran to arrive. I assume you've had a chance to familiarize yourself with what I need you to do. Any questions before she arrives?"

"I have had a chance to review it yes. As I understand her case rest one whether the contract has has been ratified by the Fraternity. If it has not it is not legally binding and Uran is free to go, presuming she is unwilling to enter into it voluntarily. If it has been ratified then the burden of proof as to whether she was made to sign it under duress."

She takes a seat and waits for Uran to arrive.

"Precisely. Before I take any direction with this, I need to understand the specifics of the contract and reasons for its signing. After that, we can decide a course of action, or inaction, as it may be. Unfortunately the owner will not be present today so this will merely be an investigative step. I simply need you to ensure Uran's rights are looked after. Just remember, should she be lawfully a slave, her rights are very limited."

Caterina nods.

"Then let us begin with what we do know,the first port of call would be to discern if the owner has the right to own slaves. Which she does I signed that myself.

The next is to check if the contract is signed by Uran as this is a voluntary arrangment and approved by a member of the Frarernity."

She turns to Garen as if looking for an answer to that question.
