*Hildmor offers a small smirk as soon as he takes a look at the note brought to Charles, then writes a note for the prosecution himself*
"You cannot reinitiate the previous trial unless you win this one. And even if you were right and I indeed approached factioneers about such changes...no crime lies in such acts. Take my advice and do attempt to defeat a proffessional lawyer by piling up things which will most likely not hold any water. However, I am not one to stop you if you wish to waste your breath asking for those charges to be accountable."

Victor smiles and nods.
"The testimony speaks for itself, i do not need to cross examine"
((As agreed, we want to get this done with, so no cross-examinations))

Your honour, seeing as our instructions prevent me from questioning the witness, I will make statement based on his testimony.
He states Mr. D'Kridis attempted to bribe him, threatened him, demanded coin from him... yet we are to take this as truth? Where is the evidence? Who overheard these supposed vile deeds whispered to no one else? I have seen no sensory stones... ones claimed to be proof. Do they exist? If so... produce them so we may see. If not... then the witness's testimony becomes simply one man's word against another and hardly convincing as fact.
Unless evidence exists, the testimony must be ruled inadmissible.

((As a note, the post that I made a while back specifically ordering all witnesses to be subjected to a Zone of Truth spell, under pain of arrest should any attempt be made to resist its effects, may have gotten lost amongst the rest, but the ruling stands. If no changes to Isendis' remarks would be made as a result of this fact, then we will proceed))
"The witness speaks under the effect of a Zone of Truth spell, per my previous order. Unless the defense's submitted and approved evidence includes information that would indicate that the witness' mind has been altered to distort his perception of the truth, the court will rule his testimony to be admissible. The defense may ask three additional questions of the witness before we move on to the next one, if the defense has any to ask that is."
If the judge seems to ignore the note about the sensory stones, it is likely for the reasons the defense has brought up

Hildmor sends another note to the judge:
Your honor, even though the testimony has been ruled admissable, I as a spellcaster can't help but to note that a zone of truth cannot provide any guarantees of a truthful testimony. The caser cannot sense if the spell was resisted or not.
As for the stones, only items mentioned in the proseution's initial case can be considered. The court cannot accept 'copies' since the contents of original recording stones was not checked before. Besides, Isendis is a sensate and sensory stones can be altered really easily. Thus, the defendant does not believe neither so called copis or the originals to be reliable, even if admissable evidence.

"The court is aware that the Zone of Truth is not perfect, though it nevertheless holds that testimony given under its influence is given more weight than unsubstantiated rumor. The court expects the prosecution to produce the evidence as it was originally recorded at the beginning of these proceedings, as no additional evidence will be permitted in these hearings.
The defense will move on with its three questions or we will proceed to the next witness"

Before I question the witness, I have something to show the court should your honour be considering the validity of the Sensory stonesÂ…
You Honour ((picks up the sensory stone evidence and looks at it curiously)) these are interesting little things. IÂ’ve toyed with them from time to timeÂ… itÂ’s a wonder they arenÂ’t more widespread as they can allow you to experience a most diverse set of emotions and sensationsÂ… however ((puts it gently back down)) they are inherently unreliable as a means to prove fact.
((Walks over to his file case and takes out another Sensory stone. Hands it to the bailiff))
I give to you exhibit C. This little gem holds a sordid tale, one filled with mistrust and sexual overtonesÂ… one to make the viewer as interested as any. As IÂ’m sure the sensate representative can attest, what he (or she) seeÂ’s, sensation wise, is one hundred percent factual and truthful.
For those unable to see the show the sensate sees, allow me to describe the scene for you.
What the Sensate sees is a Harmonium officer, one Measure One Cratten Erroc, cavorting with ladies of the night in the Hive Ward. As the Sensate can see, he jokes with them, allows his hands to wander, shares a fewÂ… sensations of his ownÂ… before handing them a pouch of coin and wandering off with them to enjoy himself. The Sensate can verify that what they see is, in fact, one hundred percent truth based on the sensation recorded.
Now, before the prosecution jumps from their seat frothing at the mouth about the outrage, and before the Harmonium accuses me of a smear campaign against their own, I will openly admitÂ… the actual image in the stone is false. We will not openly accuse Officer Erroc of such things and would never assume he would actually do such. He was in no way involved in anything connected to this recording.
NoÂ… the individual is actually a bard in similar armor. IÂ’m sure the Sensate can attest that he did a great job and the makeup he wore makes him look strikingly like the good officer. As an asideÂ… no one ever told me professional bards charge such high fees for personal performances. That is a profession I must look into ((chuckles)).
The point I’m trying to make. We ensured this act was witnessed by a young Hive resident who was one hundred percent certain it was Officer Erroc he was watching and then we took the sensation of the act from this citizen to make the stone that I have given the court. You see… these stones are meant to record sensation… not visual fact. Just because someone sees something does not mean it actually occurred as such. All it means is the originator of the sensation “feels” what they’re seeing is truth. The sensation can be further altered by the disposition of the original witness, or viewer, based on his or her view of the scene. If they hate the individual they are viewing, then the sensation in the stone will carry that emotion and be further corrupted, or possibly further wronged, based on the effects of that hatred.
The Sensates never created these objects as a means to record truth. They simply wanted the sensations to experience on their own. You can set any situation up, layout anything you like, and as long as the person whom youÂ’re harvesting the sensation from believes itÂ… then that is the sensation that will be imparted on the stone. It is quite possible that the images contained in the stone given to the prosecution is corrupted by the witnessÂ’s dislike for Mr. DÂ’Kridis, that the images do not portray the truth as it happened and that the images are more a product of personal feelings clouded by emotional opinionÂ… personal sensationsÂ… than actual fact.
They are not failsafe. They are not foolproof and they most certainly are not accurate by any means. They are merely designed to impart sensation and belong in the fantasy filled halls of the Sensates to enjoy and not in a courtroom of fact.
Now ((turns to the witness))Â… Please answer the questions IÂ’m about to ask and stay focused on the questions only. Save your opinions on everything else for Khazeets when you are dismissed ((smiles in a professional manner)).
I've been over the discussion that you had with Mr. D'Kridis... the one purported as fact in the sensory stones... and I have seen heard no real threats against you. ((walks over to the case and takes out some paper hands it to the witness)). This is a transcript of your conversation... I'm sure if you trust the validity of your stone, which of course... I don't, then you must agree that what you saw, and what Mr. D'Kridis saw, are the same.
This is the copy (((ooc: I've taken the liberty of removing all the chat in the area out of it so as to make it a much easier read. It was full of log in's, tells, other character convo's etc. This is the "cleaned out" version of the convo)))
Please read this to the court and tell us... where are the threats to your very life? Where are the threats you claim to occur? I see you accepting deals while cooperating in a game we merchants like to call, bluff. You seem to play it as well as Mr. D'Kridis. You make many subtle threats as well. Please tell the court... where are the threats?
Again... read it and tell me where the threats are.

Isendis Sunfire: *pulls out his wine glass and bottle, and pours himself a glass*
Isendis Sunfire: I believe I made my parameters for deal making clear in the past. Dogs stay away from the table. *sips*
Raven: *rolls her eyes*
Hildmor d'Kridis: We don't have a deal this time, this is much simpler
Raven: [Whisper] Why must I stand near this ooze?
Hildmor d'Kridis: ...I am godsdamned pissed off. *He smiles*
Isendis Sunfire: That I did not bow to your whim?
Hildmor d'Kridis: That you did not refuse like a man and made a mistake of assuming your testimony would change anything.
Hildmor d'Kridis: ...In any case case, here's the deal. *He slides a small gem over the table* Fifty thousands in two months and you can become a carefree treehumper you were.
Isendis Sunfire: Which my testimony against you would have angered you anyway. *sips*
Hildmor d'Kridis: -second case*
Isendis Sunfire: *looks at the gem*
Hildmor d'Kridis: So here's the <i>deal</i>...*He lowers his tone this time*
Hildmor d'Kridis: [Whisper] You'll have to bring me fifty thousands within two months. I don't care where you get them.
Isendis Sunfire: [Whisper] You plan to openly threaten me in the bar?
Hildmor d'Kridis: [Whisper] Yes. *Flatly* The heat is over, my dear friend. They left me alone...Now, what was your opinion about our deal?
Isendis Sunfire: [Whisper] My opinion? That you are a fool who is overreaching. If you want me to consider this. Send. The dog. Away.
Raven: [Whisper] Does my mere presence frighten you? *smile with vicious delight*
Isendis Sunfire: [Whisper] Hardly. I've fought rodents more frightening.
Isendis Sunfire: [Whisper] You? You are a mere obstacle I could take down in the span of six seconds. It is the principle of the thing.
Isendis Sunfire: *sips wine*
Hildmor d'Kridis: *Hildmor tilts his head, chuckling*
Isendis Sunfire: Send the dog away Hildmor.
Raven: [Whisper] Hardly, since you'd have no head within 3. *her voice turns solid, eyes glaring back with infernal furor*
Isendis Sunfire: *laughs uproarously*
Raven: *growls something at Isendis in a rather unfriendly tone*
Isendis Sunfire: Large threats from a whorish dog of a woman.
Hildmor d'Kridis: *Offers a shake of his head.* Seems like you've lost it, Isendis. I am very sorry this couldn't end any better. *Hildmor just stands.* I am giving you...three days. You'll find me or you're going to regret it.
Isendis Sunfire: [Whisper] Then I accept.
Isendis Sunfire: [Whisper] May as well say it now. In the future? Send her away, or I will do it myself.
Hildmor d'Kridis: [Whisper] She'd gut you within a single moment.
Isendis Sunfire: [Whisper] So you think.
Isendis Sunfire: *flicks the gem into the ooze*
Raven: [Whisper] Ohh, I'll give your erection a bit of peace then elf,... *cackles and turns off*
Isendis Sunfire: I have standards.
Hildmor d'Kridis: Tsk. Will need to get you a new one. *He smirks and sits down again*
Hildmor d'Kridis: [Whisper] Do you accept or do you have something to add, Isendis?
Isendis Sunfire: [Whisper] Forty thousand in the same time.
Hildmor d'Kridis: *Hildmor begins laughing.*
Hildmor d'Kridis: *He seems to consider something for a moment.*
Hildmor d'Kridis: *Then offers a slight nod*
Hildmor d'Kridis: [Whisper] Fine. But remember, you can <<I like teddy bears>> off to Celestia for all I care- I'll still find you.
Isendis Sunfire: [Whisper] You can try, but remember, I am not some simple dog who only knows how to swing a blade.
Hildmor d'Kridis: [Whisper] You assume too much of Raven.
Isendis Sunfire: [Whisper] One spell is all it takes to slay her.
Isendis Sunfire: *sips*
Isendis Sunfire: [Whisper] Any number of such one spells.
Hildmor d'Kridis: [Whisper] Pfeh, as I said, you assume too much but it matters not now anyway.
Isendis Sunfire: [Whisper] Oh? If I were to cast such a spell now, what would she do?
Isendis Sunfire: [Whisper] Oh, that is right. Die.
Hildmor d'Kridis: [Whisper] Aren't you one hopeless idiot? *He smiles*
Isendis Sunfire: [Whisper] It is not bravado, mere fact.
Hildmor d'Kridis: [Whisper] Then cast it.
Isendis Sunfire: [Whisper] I am not a fool, the Harmonium would have my head for such.
Isendis Sunfire: [Whisper] We have our deal.
Hildmor d'Kridis: [Whisper] Still, you claim to be able to slay her with a single spell. I doubt it, put it lightly...
Isendis Sunfire: [Whisper] You should be able to guess at such, unless the reports of you being a powerful mage are overstated.
Isendis Sunfire: *sips*
Hildmor d'Kridis: [Whisper] You're right about that. Oh and...forget about even breathing towards any of my men or myself, through lawsuits or otherwise.
Isendis Sunfire: [Whisper] Of course.
Isendis Sunfire: *sips*

The threats? I believe. . . *rambles off the threats*
"...In any case case, here's the deal. *He slides a small gem over the table* Fifty thousands in two months and you can become a carefree treehumper you were."

"[Whisper] You're right about that. Oh and...forget about even breathing towards any of my men or myself, through lawsuits or otherwise."
are threats, and that is not to mention that he attempted to bribe and threaten me prior to the trial that caused this one, and I quote, " Have a good reverie on it and don't mention this to the Harmonium. I'd prefer myself to stay. . . polite."
Are these not threats? Veiled threats are still threats, remember.
