While the thought of rubbing his lovely, bald head does cross her mind -- and it does put an amused smirk on her face -- the hardhead manages to resist the urge. Instead, she folds her arms and watches the man work, with a clear spark of interest in her eyes.

When he speaks, she takes a moment to consider his words.

"Bereth, eh?"

The hardhead takes a moment to scratch at her unnaturally red hair, with her right fingers, as her eyes drift away from the bald officer. She purses her lips, as she takes a moment to think.

Soon enough, her eyes drift back to the man at the front desk. When she speaks, it is in her thick, foreign accent -- the well-traveled may realize the accent is from the Vast.

"Sorry sir, I have two more questions. Do ve know vhere zis asylum is located – and vould I be able to get clearance to look around inside?"

He peers down carefully, smacking dried saliva from his lips as he silently reads to himself. A short moment later:

"Looks loike it's somewheyah 'n the Lady's Ward or th' Lower Ward. Can't be pacific, though. S'ppose it's b'cause of the changing naytcha o' Sigil's streets."

The shiny scalp hides from view as he sits back thoughtfully, and adds as an afterthought:

"Eh, not really sure 'bout lookin' around there, ye'd have t' ask Bereth I s'ppose. Unless, of course, you have a strong pusspishun of a crime bein' commited."

His eye widens in sudden curiosity and he examines Ember's face expectantly.

Ember stares back at the Factotum and wrinkles her nose.

"Nozing concrete, but somezing is certainlyÂ… off. Vhat I have seen is not legal cause to investigate, but it does give me ze desire to. Perhaps you vould have a suggestion for how to proceed?"

She pauses as she taps her foot and grimaces, lightly.

"Not sure if you believe in ghosts, but an elven voman and I saw one in Undersigil. Here is my brief report on it."
wrote:After investigating a local group of cultists, a ghost appeared in Undersigil, calling out to me and Neri, the elven female I was with. She appeared to jump around, as if distorting reality itself.

With her build, she was a female human or elf, clearly humanoid. The encounter was too brief -- and her form too distorted -- to get a clear look at her features. Neri and I saw the ghost, but no one else in Undersigil did.

Here is what she said:

"I don't want to go."

"Please."

"Don't let them take me."

She then turned to look at Neri, when asked where she didnÂ’t want to be taken.

"Harbinger House."

After that, the ghost continued on its way, and disappeared, saying one last lineÂ…

"I don't want to go."
Ember watches the HardheadÂ’s reactions, curiously.

He places a rough, fatherly hand on hers and leans in to mumble-whisper.

"Honestly, that's hahdly a reason for the Guvnahss to grayant a warrant - it could be dismissed as someone playing a prank. But... I can tell yer keen on investigatin'"

He leans in so close that Ember can see her distorted reflection easily on his shiny forehead.

"Tells ye wot, I cain see 'f I cain pull some strangs fer ye. But 'n the meantime, I reckon ye toalk to a Godsman friend o yers. Don't really have any Godsmen friends? Make 'em. Then request they let ye snoop 'around. The higher ranked th' better."

"Ye gotta be convincin' though. If they think yer barmy then they'll give ye th' laugh."

She smiles at the Factotum.

"Zank you for ze help. I vill see vhat I can find out, on my end."

She salutes him -- and with that, she goes to walk out of the Barracks -- unless the bald man had anything else to add.
