Walking up and down he then muses:

Alathusra jots down a few notes with a small black quill before addressing the judge.
"The prosecution calls Sergio Natal to the stand."
Once the witness is in place she begins her questioning.
"Please describe to the court the circumstances under which you observed the accused and the victim, Lord Alandris, at the Fortune's Wheel three weeks prior to the incident in question."

A well dressed - in a foppish sort of way - gentleman made his way to the stand. He cleared his throat, and began:
"I remember it was the 2nd Taker's Day of Retributus. Wonderfully lucky day, despite the unlucky month - at least for me. I was at the Fortune's Wheel for the exotic animal baiting. There was a tiger and a dire wolf - but that's beside the point.
"Anyway, I saw the usual suspects playing cards in the main room - among them the accused and Lord Alandris. I rememberLord Alandris had a rather foul look on his face, like he was loosing. I heard him cursing his bad luck later, and thinking it all very funny - after all, what could a few gambling debts mean to a man that rich?"
