During Alathusra's outburst Caterina wears a neutral expression and an indulgent smile. When the half fiend has finished she responds her tone calm and measured.
"Prosecutor you are very close to being found in contempt of court. Defence counsel your witness."

"Thank you Judge Arnders." he says, nodding to her before turning to the witnesses.
The necromancer just listened to the exchange between the judge and the persecutor, his face kept passive, hiding all emotions- but as so often it is not he even has any, the man seeming emotionally distant, just a mere servant of law.
"Good day", he greets the witness, smiles the polite smile that is expected on this occasion then goes on: " I have just one question- has the accused ever been in a similar condition on one of her earlier visits?"

Candelaria's gaze darted about the room before settling back on the prosecutor. She answered, hesitantly:
"No, she wasn't. Well, not as bad as on that night. She always was demanding and irrational."

Hasclaan notices the exchange in glances, tilts his head.
"So what is the truth? Your first answer- that she was not, or your second, that she always was like this? Please be specific- and remember your responsibilities as a witness and the consequences for lying."

"I only gave one answer!" Candelaria retorted, flustered, "She was always an irritant, but she was the worst on that last night. . . when. . . "
She reached for her hanky again, and burst into tears, dabbing her eyes furiously.

Hasclaan is not someone who is moved by a woman's tears, his behavior still distant, emotionally cold.
The few seconds he grants her before he asks the next question are a result of him following the unwritten rules of society (which he is nevertheless recording diligently, submitting folder after folder to the archives.) not of some heartfelt compassion.
"Your personal feelings are well known now.", he states with calm, almost soothing voice "but while interesting when we will consider your answers they were not what I wanted to know. Has the accused been in a similar condition on an earlier visit? Yes? No?"

At the objection there is a strike of the gavel on the judges desk.
"The court understands from Lady Alandris first answer that the accused was behaving differently on the night in question. Further clarification is not required at this time. Objection sustained."
