A Lawsuit Filed.

A messenger, wearing the emblem of the Fated, drops off a package to the Fraternity. It is addressed to the courts. In it contains a large stack of legal documents, forms and paperwork. In short, it contains the following;

This is a formal lawsuit, filed by Fated Lawyer Ba'alnior, care of the Law offices maintained by the Fated, on behalf of private citizen Jenavee Malcontent. It is filed against the Hiromo clan (address and documentation of member citizens included). In it, it alleges that the Hiromo clan has conspired through falsehood and deceit, to deprive Jenavee of lawful business within the city and to destroy her reputation through lies and deception. The lawsuit includes all papers required for a lawsuit for slander, loss of reputation, loss of business, loss of expected profit and loss of livelihood and defamation of character.

The lawsuit put forth to the Fraternity shows to seek a sum of no less than five hundred thousand (500,000) gold pieces in legal Sigilian tender, the full withdrawal of the boycott and full public apology for the lies being spread. It is also included that the Attorney Ba'alnior, on behalf of his client, is also willing to discuss a possible out of court settlement in order to minimize potential embarrassment to the Hiromo clan and to keep the details of this from SIGIS.

All required fees are included with the paperwork, including fees to have all paperwork copied and delivered by Fraternity Bailiffs to the Hiromo clan.

Ba'alnior then simply waits for a reply from the Fraternity or the Hiromo clan, whichever comes first.

A10 Ran bao observes the notice of document arrival and makes his way to the preliminary files left there.

"I will look over the files" he states slowly to the Aide on duty. "I will be in one of the offices down the hallway."

With that he takes the tiny documents in hand and lumbers out to look them over.

At the request of his client, the lawsuit is considered dropped. The deposit made by his client is kept as agreed and Ba'alnior sends a bottle of brandy to Ran bao as a matter of professional courtesy.

This, of course, is marked as a victory in Ba'alniors office. Hopfully his superiors think so as well. Even the thought of facing the Attorney in court was enough to force his client and her opponent to come to terms

On receiving the letter stating a settlement out of court the oni nods and dismisses the Aide. "Do send word if anymore documents of litigation arrive. Remove these folders if the case has been settled and have them filed under "Private action: Malcontent v. Clan Hiromo" in the settled section. A copy of the statement concerning the dropped lawsuit should be made visible so all attorneys involved and not involved can see it has been dealt with." He scans the Aide in question for a moment before adding"If you need to, write down what I have said as a guidance for future cases."

As the door closes he looks to the bottle, his black eyes peering at it and slowly nods once.
