Having made an appointment to be seen, Chardon enters the city courts and goes to speak with whomever he has to.

"I hate to do this, but I need to look into my options for proceeding with charges against Owen Belmont, an Indep named Desdemona and possibly the Harmonium officers on duty in the Great Bazaar yesterday. I don't want to take things even this far, but it may be the only way I can maintain my reputation and avoid fines.

The incident began with me entering into an available stall and opening shop. Upon me opening shop, Owen moved into the stall next to mine and began calling out his wares. In an area in which my own expertise exceeded his, I called out my own wares. At this point Owen cast a magical silence over me. When the spell wore off, I began calling out for Harmonium aid, but none arrived. Having been repeatedly harassed by the Harmonium since I became a lich, I can only presume discrimination. At this point I sent a solitary rat into Owen's stall. Not the hordes that rumors are claiming. My intention was to use the rat to keep an eye on Owen. The rat was chased by a druid woman in the form of a smiladon, which was something I neither anticipated nor could have controlled. At that point, Owen cast a magical cloud of nauseous vapors over myself and my customer, as well as a large portion of the bazaar. My customer, one Hecate has already agreed to testify on my behalf should such be necessary. I called again for Harmonium aid, and began packing my belongings to leave as soon as I concluded my deal. My intention was to go pursue immediate legal action but Owen apologized for the incident and we tidied things up. Now I've come to realize that this Desdemona lady, who stopped by to tell me to stop shouting when I was calling for aid is slandering me and spreading lies that I commanded a horde of rats to assault Owen.

To make things short, I need a cease and desist order towards her, a restraining order against Owen Belmont, and I would like the Harmonium on duty that day brought up on discrimination charges."

In the unlikely event that the Fraternity of Order would see fit to take care of such an issue with any sort of diligence, Desdemona's response would be as follow: "I have no idea what that one's talking about. They were making a big scene so I did try to tell them to give it a rest but they wouldn't listen so I left. I haven't really talked about it with anyone."

None of the witnesses to Desdemona's speech in that warehouse would in any likelihood confirm Chardon's words. How the man himself came to be informed of it is a mystery.

((Do keep in mind that what's said in the Indeps IC is for Indeps eyes only and that as such none but Indeps would've even heard Desdemona's words. Indeps don't sell out other Indeps to the Guvners or Harmonium.))

\\No but rumors persist. And if Chardon is ICly being questioned IG about "hordes of rats" then he's going to take action. Since Desdemona was the only one who showed any interest in the situation, it's not hard to figure out who's responsible\\

((This OOC maneuvering is unnecessary- both of you keep it IC please))

An elderly gnome with thick bifocals and a large quill fountain-pen the size of his forearm looks up from a massive stack of papers to acknowledge the lich with an absent-minded nod. His voice emerges raspy and high-pitched:

"Weeeeeell you'll need to file separate charges for each point of contention: cease and desist, discrimination, and a restraining order. For each charge, be sure to include witness testimonies that are signed and notarized. Finally, make a note that there is a 6 month waiting list for incidents like these to be resolved due to bureaucratic backlog."

He hands Chardon the necessary paperwork, then resumes filling out forms.

Chardon takes the forms, leaving the City Courts to fill them out.
