Greetings Fraternity of Order,

We request a trial for Hildmor d'Kridis in charges of attempts of Murdering Fraternity of Order member Judge Owen, blackmail of merchant organizations Kith S'jet, several conscious and planned murder intents of citizen of Sigil, holding citizen of Sigil in captivity within Sigil borders, attempts to enslave citizen of Sigil within Sigil borders. We also wish to press these same charges against the entire organizations of Under Sigil Cartel and the Syndicate whom are all tied closely to the very same crimes by their members and resources.

We seek for maximum punishment of banishment from the City of Sigil to all three of these. A large quantity of jink to be paid to all whom have suffered through his actions. [size0]((Just the cliche "this is what we want" not "this is what Mercykillers decide" before the inevitable complaints come.))

The Harmonium also has been given a witness testimony which has revealed that the Tower of Hildmor d'Kridis contains a facility for cloning, we request this facility is to be manually shut down for the time of trials and to be observed by a legal unit to prevent further injustice occurring during trial, and that the judge is to decide what is to be done to this cloning facility during the trial if the accused is to be found guilty.

If the tower is still considered outside Sigil laws, the Harmonium will wage war against this rogue faction unless permission is granted by the owner on basis that this "country" has acted against the citizen of Sigil which in itself can be considered an act of war by the rogue state. As the tower is not subject to our laws, this will not either be considered an illegal action.

Through might we'll reach harmony,

- Cadaveus

Judge Majors eye bulge with the higher instruct him to oversee this case. However, he smiles and beams on the inside. His first official case!

Already he is reviewing past cases and looks up the documentation that was compiled by various sources. After several nights he pens a letter back to the hardheads

To my esteemed colleagues in the Harmonium

After reviewing past cases against this individual i have determined that you are correct in your assessment. I will be officially filing that this case me moved to a sealed court with all witness and participants will be sworn to secrecy.

Sincerely,

Judge Majors A-10

Judge Majors then files the necessary paperwork and collects the needed signatures to have the trial elevated to a sealed court case.

A formally signed and sealed letter is delivered to the Fraternity of Order and the Harmonium by a nervous imp.

"That I should have to have received the first information regarding the arrest and upcoming trial of one of my clients from S.I.G.I.S. is a gross breach of professional courtesy, and I hope it is not a sign of things to come. It is customary for the legal counsel of the accused to be notified immediately, and not summoned through a newspaper article.

This breach of etiquette aside, I am not at liberty to discuss details with Harmonium officials until I have received a list of the charges and have consulted with my client.

As legal counsel to Mr. d'Kridis, I must request that I be granted unrestricted access to my client without delay. I also request to be formally notified of the precise charges against my client. In addition, I request transcripts of any statements given by my client in the time since his arrest along with the identities of those individuals who took the statements.

Sincerely,
Nimue Bellator"

Harmonium reply to this is as follows:
    Greetings Nimue Bellator, There was little to no knowledge of whom was legal representative of Hildmor d'Kridis thus we contacted public to assume such would contact us instead, and as seen the method was highly effective. The matter of publishing this does little to change the case at all in the end as the said information would've been published at any case. We will request to see your legal permits and documentation that you indeed are the legal council of Hildmor d'Kridis before any actions are taken. You will not be granted unrestricted access, you will be granted restricted access due to security reasons. Within the Harmonium barracks you will obey the Harmonium rules. You will also be requested to be placed under geas of secrecy to ensure the safety of witnesses, if this condition is not met then no information of witnesses will be shared with the defense and only with the judge whom can deem which information may be revealed by legal accounts while maintaining witness protection program. At soonest you will be granted meeting with the client tomorrow, as is done to protect witnesses we will give them information one day before any actions are to be taken to Hildmors current state of petrifaction so that they may prepare proper security measures. As a bright side this state has prevented any statements from the client thus no transcriptions are required. This state will be changed back to flesh in one days time. Precise charges at the current moment are as follows;
  • Murder of the Family of Judge Owen, framing Judge Owen.
  • Blackmail.
  • Holding registered citizen as captive.
  • Murder intents, plans and attempts of executing these plans against several citizen of Sigil.
  • Attempts to enslave several citizen of Sigil.

This list may grow before the trial as new evidences are found. Details of whom will be only revealed after request for Geas to ensure the secrecy is approved.

    Through might we'll reach harmony,

A copy of the Harmonium letter is forwarded to the Fraternity of Order along with another letter by Nimue directed to the court.
Greetings Fraternity of Order Even though the trial has not yet formally begun, the Harmonium has already lapsed comfortably into its familiar routine of disrespect for the law and malice towards the accused. In light of the controversy surrounding the previous two trials involving Mr. d'Kridis, I can only treat the Harmonium's insistence on secrecy with the utmost skepticism, as it constitutes a license for all of Sigil to anonymously slander the accused with no possibility of legal recourse. I urge the court to proceed with appropriate care, since the tendency of the Harmonium to run roughshod over legal procedure touches on the very foundations of our legal system. This, however, is not the reason for this letter, as it merely constitutes the background I am obliged to work in. More critically, you will find in the copy of the enclosed letter from Mover Two Cadaveus of the Harmonium a conscious effort to delay me in consulting with my client. As you are aware my license to practice law is a matter of public record, and there would have been no question regarding my status as Mr. d'Kridis' legal representative in this matter if they had asked him about it instead of keeping him petrified. Their contention that this is for security reasons is laughable, if they cannot keep a prisoner securely in his cell without turning him into a statue then they should not be permitted to keep prisoners at all. The second point is more malicious still. As legal counsel to the accused, it would not only be highly unethical for me to withhold information pertaining to the case from my client, it would in fact be illegal. I cannot therefore consent to any geas that would compel me to withhold such information, and the mere suggestion is a violation of both Mr d'Kridis' rights as a citizen of Sigil and my own professional integrity. In the interest of ensuring a fair trial for my client, I wish to submit the following: Immediate recognition of my status as counsel to the accused My license is a matter of public record, and the professional relationship between myself and my clients is not for the Harmonium to judge. If my client had not been forcibly prevented from expressing his wishes in the matter, there would have been no argument. Immediate and unrestricted access to my client I do not feel obliged to believe that security at the Harmonium barracks is so lacking that they cannot keep a prisoner secure without keeping him petrified, nor that an unarmed woman of my size should constitute a security hazard within their own barracks. I request that I be given immediate access to my client, and that the confidentiality of my consultations be adequately safeguarded. Discovery of information regarding the prosecution's witnesses and evidence While the court is at liberty to hold sealed proceedings, information can not legally be withheld from the defense. I request that a list of all witnesses and evidences be made available to me without delay. However, as legal counsel to the accused, I am forbidden by law to withhold information pertaining to the case from my client. I cannot therefore legally submit to a geas that shall compel me to illegally withhold such information, and in light of its legal impossibility this requirement should itself be considered a violation of my professional integrity and a violation of my client's right to a fair trial. All things considered, it is a good thing the Harmonium does not control the courts. It is my sincere hope that cooler heads shall prevail, and that my client shall be granted the fair and impartial trial to which any citizen is entitled. Sincerely, Nimue Bellator [/li]

The following letter is sent to all of the Harmonium witnesses. They are not addressed to the witnesses by name. It is a blanket letter to cover them all without releasing identities. The letters are sealed with the Fraternity crest and signed by both the court and the Harmonium office. They are hand delivered in such a way as to not raise the suspicions of those around the receiver.

"I am Fraternity Administrator 9, Seph.

I have been put in charge of the prosecution of citizen Hildmor d'Kridis. As a witness, you will be instrumental in bringing this case to a successful result. I have been given access to all records and evidences connected to this case and have begun to sift through them in an effort to build my case for court.

From you I require a written statement. It must explain to what extent you are a witness. It must explain to me, in your own words, what you actually witnessed, when you witnessed it and where you witnessed it. The inclusion of those who might have also witnessed the same event would help considerably. It must not contain heresy or second hand information, only information you, yourself, saw and can attest to. I also need to know who the statement belongs to so I can match it up to the evidence I currently have on hand.

As with every other aspect of this case, your identities and anything that can be used to identify you, will remain private and secret. If for any reason you doubt the validity of this missive, you may approach Mover Two Cadaveus of the Harmonium or Judge Grikkel Majors A-10 of the Fraternity to verify my position in this case.

I look forward to receiving your statement in a timely manner so that we may proceed with the trial.

Regards

A9 Seph

Chief Prosecutor of Trial docket 334-5B"

The letter is stamped, witnessed and signed.

A young halfling enters to provide a statement. She seems worried, and fearful.. but it looks like she was convinced in the end to go through with it.

"I- I state what happened to me," She said before waiting for the scribe to take notes. "My name is Mara Raven, an employee to the Kith and Natasha- may she rest in peace," She said it carefully so as not to mention any god incase that causes issue with the harmonium. "My duties included delivery, and- renewing contracts. I played a very small role and my job didn't give me a lot of gold."

The blond halfling sighs, looking down a bit- partly wishing she wasn't even there. "I- I went to the Abyssal plane, with Illia and Alista. I thought I'd be safe in their company. But Alista had to go. Illia insisted we could still go fight the demons if we were careful. But- I wasn't able to beat them. I think I had a mortal blow... near a bridge to the opening of the portal"

"I'm afraid I don't know what happened in between being in the Abyss and when I woke up. It was a dark place. I was on a floor of some kind. All my gear was removed, and I was tied up. I couldn't see much. I heard Hildmor speak. He said that He was having to deal with my employer and that my absence was going to help in that."

The halfling looked tearfully afraid now. Like maybe she was consigning herself by speaking.

"I- I begged him to let me go. I said that this wasn't right. He started singing a song to me. About the sword making things right. He then said he would remove a finger of mine to give to Natasha- I became very scared."

She looked at her hand briefly agitated.

"I- I said that if he lets me go I wouldn't say a word. That- nothing would come of it. That my value to the Kith is nothing of consequence. Hildmor demanded to know the names of those in the organisation- but I hadn't attended any meetings, so I didn't know anyone. Hildmor demanded to know if the Kith were active.. I honestly didn't know. I just signed up to do a few small jobs. I- he then cut a piece of my hair..."

Mara glances around, as if another troubling thought on her mind.

"I offered him everything I had. He could have had all my meager possessions if he would just let me go. They were- not of interest to him. He then told me that a ring I wore would sustain me without food or drink and that Ilia was still alive."

The halfling looks as pale as a sheet, as she continues to speak of what happened. But the act is very draining to her.

"Hildmor told me to pray... very hard. And.. that's what I did. I- I think I cried a bit- um-"

Mara looks very embarrassed- even mortified to admit it. "He- He said that if there's no reason to kill me, he wont. And now- by telling you all this, I fear he will have reason to kill me. I have given him that reason."

Mara hangs her head in shame. The distress and finality of her words echoing in the chamber. To her, the sounded like a guillotine over her head.

"I fell asleep, in the dark, for a long time. Waiting, for a while. I don't know how long. maybe a few days. I- suddenly felt a spell cast on me. I knew it to be a spell to turn me to stone- and then all I saw was oblivion."

The halfling looks with very disturbed eyes.

"I was roused in a new place. No idea again of the passage of time. Nienna was with me. I asked what happened, and she said she was keeping me on Hildmor's behalf. I was- saddened that I was not released yet. Nienna decided to- to-

The halfling took another breath. "I- I was turned to stone again. I guess I was 'willing' this time. S-she said it was necessary and I didn't really know what to believe or do."

"I was told my fate was in Natasha's hands... and.. she died. I didn't want anyone to die. Not over me..."
