Nimue put down her quill after she finished filling out the last of the required forms. The paperwork was unavoidable, though her meeting with Garen earlier in the day had indeed significantly eased the process as he had predicted. She smiled faintly as she reflected on the value of a little civility even in a place as dangerous as Sigil, all in all the process had been quite painless.
She returned to the clerk's desk and handed in the last of the forms she had been requested to fill in along with the folder she had initially arrived with. She smiled faintly as the imp checked the papers and found no problems. One of the advantages of having Baatezu check your papers was that you could generally be pretty sure there would be no further problems down the line. One of the disadvantages was having to draw up the papers yourself, or problems would be pretty much guaranteed.
The clerical work, fortunately, should only be a formality, and she'd dealt with the type before. Formalities were exchanged and she left the building and returned to the bazaar, spending much of the remainder of the day at various booksellers' stands.

Paperwork was filed with the clerks' office of the Fraternity of Order in the Ladys Ward by a halfling woman who identified herself as Nimue. The subject was an application to practice law within the borders and associated territories of Sigil, and she had arrived with the relevant documents already filled out and signed by one administrator Garen Seph.

A courier delivers a message to Nimue. Several of the letters in the short missive are missing serifs, making it look as if it were stamped using quite an old block. It reads:
Dear Nimue :
Your application has been received and approved. You are now eligible to sit for the Sigil Bar Examination (SBE) which is held every fourth turn in City Court basement lecture room.
The examination fee of 1000 jinks is payable at the time of registration.
Very sincerely yours,
Blather D. Penscribble, Esq

The underscored passages appear to have been blank spaces in which someone, likely Blather D. Penscribble (or his assistant...or perhaps his assistant's assistant!) has neatly written in Nimue's name and the required total.
