Investigating the survivors

Straight from the lady's... mouth? Speech to text devices, she had spared some of the invaders and the factioneers had been directed to investigate them on a tight timetable, as in, they had hours to count. And so, Kregorothax would be at that meeting, sure, but right after, they had that matter specifically to look into and three hot-spots to search.

Quickest and most immediate place to search for othersigil insurgents trying to hide would be hive ward. Gangers might have captured them and be extracting retribution, they might be hiding among the frightened poor, they might be embedding themselves into the most unscrupulous organizations. They weren't widely known as harmonium yet, so hopefully, they could gather intelligence through words and a few jink. Otherwise, ad baculum.

Second place to search was undersigil. Good place to go if one was evading “authority” and insular to a fault. They'd also be outsiders, both in name and mannerism. The namer suspected they would, again, be trying to integrate and embed but probably at a faster pace then the locals appreciated.

Third was the area between, the mid-sigil of the massive and incompletely charted sewer system where all manner of vermin made their nest. The alternate universe harmonium had better intelligence then they did, and it made a uncomfortable, if unpleasent fallback location. Either by plan or accident, if the other-sigilian tried to go fully to ground, that would be the likely location. A location that was massive, smelly and hard to search.

A search through the Hive tends not to be quick or immediate, as Kregothorax would learn. For within its seemingly endless, maze like alleyways and narrow streets dwelt not just the downtrodden poor, but a multitude of miscreant thugs, waiting like spiders in a web for some hapless moth.

Unfortunately for a few of those thugs, however, Kregothorax was no moth. The new Notary would manage to handle the initial assaults well enough, though he would find that these gangs had little to offer him in the way of information. Those citizens simply minding their own business, likewise, only had bits of chant around the issue, and nothing in the way of solid, actionable leads.

The following day, whether he opted to continue searching the Hive or venture to Undersigil instead, he would receive new orders from his training instructor. It seems Kregothorax's request to join the battle groups rallying for the Outlands was approved, and so he was re-assigned accordingly. His instructions, effective immediately, are now to join with the muster at the Barracks, and assist with the preparations as needed.
I just want to kill monsters and get prizes for it. Is that REALLY so much to ask for?
