Locking her hands behind her head, she offers her sweetest smile towards Garen.
((Judging by her expression, she recognizes his words and tone for exactly what they are, but at the very least his esteem rose in her eyes, as her response and attention are now focused far more towards him than Cadaveus))
"Ahh, someone who speaks my language. If you know any bits of magic, I'd love the chance to discuss conjuration and binding with you, the parts you seem to know well with some other things you probably are mistaken about, but that is neither here nor there. So, ledgers... I'm afraid you're speaking to the wrong person, as each ledger, when completed, was given to the Cartel's founder. Perhaps he managed to remove them from Sigil with himself, but seeing as I've been otherwise busy since the verdict was announced..."
She looks slowly around the chamber before giving a shrug that seems an inch or two away from causing her dress to fall off of her.
"...I'm afraid I can't be telling you where he or anything which is his wound up. As for a listing of Cartel members... I do be sure anyone who knows me well can state that aside from Hildmor and Kree, I did not much associate with others or involve myself in the day-to-day running of the group aside from numbers, so beyond naming those two, Yuri, Raven, and that rather annoying lawyer who defended d'Kridis in his first trial, anything else would be guesswork. After all, on a ledger there's little to tell if money moving to, for instance, Miss Nienna was a payment for goods, gossip, or assassinations."
Her hands unlace, lowering to lie upon her chair's rickety armrests.
"Truly, you do be wasting your time if you try to destroy the remnants of the Cartel. Without Hildmor's presence, nobody remaining has the will or personality to hold these people together. Kree has no lust for power or wealth, Raven... well, she's good at killing things, the lawyer has left the organization, and Yuri blushes at the sight of a succubus. However, what could do such a thing would be all-out Harmonium persecution, which, you must admit, could also wind up gaining those who remain unnecessary Free League support. Bide your time, and the issue will take care of by itself, I'm certain. And with that said, my dears, I'd appreciate if you'd either figure out what pretense you'll charge me with, or let me return to the Residence on my own recognizance."

*He considers her words for a few moments, merely watching her as he ponders*
*then he nods slightly*
Very well, my dear. Magic is hardly something I discuss often... it is more of a valuable tool than a conversation piece, much like your binding I imagine. I certainly understand its use for those in your field of expertise.
*closes his case*
The guards will supply you with a quill and a piece of paper... both incapable of creating enchantment *smiles slightly*. Once you write down everything you know about the cartel, who money was directed to and where money came from. Who made regular payments, for any reason and who merely paid now and then. Vault accounts here and elsewhere, holdings, properties, etcetera... As well information you might have heard, rumors, deals and contracts. Anything floating around in your memory...
Once that is complete I'll see if I can facilitate a quickening of this entirely tiresome legal process. I'm sure you don't wish it to take longer than it must. Depending on what the paper contains... will most likely decide how eager the Harmonium will be to take my advice on how to proceed. Hopefully what you share with us will be sufficient enough for me to convince them to release you to a more comfortable abode... your home.
*smiles once again*
I have another appointment. I will return here a little later to see how you fare.
*he respectfully nods to Cadavius and heads for the cellblock door*

It takes some effort not to laugh as she writes names in an almost calligraphic hand. The list, as could be expected originating with an organization that has both legitimate and clandestine dealings, winds up including many well-known figures, including Factol Sarin and the leaders of serveral other factions, people running charities and orphanages, Indep shopkeepers and black market profiteers, mercenary companies that aren't known to operate in Sigil, noted enchanters and planewalkers, the proprietesses of the Foul Olde Spirit inn, Khazeet, and even members of the Iron Tusk tribe.

After a time Garen would return to see if Cadavius had made any further progress. He would take a quick look over the list and then move to the side with Cadavius to discuss it... quietly so that the prisoner would not hear.
"For what it's worth... I think she's telling the truth. This list, while long, will at least permit us to check into all of these people to gauge legality. As for her charges... I am not prepared, at this time, to take it to trial. We have her confession but we do not have anything else to connect it to. I'm sure I could prove intents and such... but we'll need more.
I suggest we get a... promise from her... to remain in the City or her territories until we have concluded the investigation. A simple vow for compliance would suffice. I believe she'll obey it... but these are only suggestions of course... what happens at his point, is up to you."

Cadaveus looks between the two discussing with each other, doesn't interrupt one or another, weighs down the options, then moves to knock the door "Warden, release the prisoner." the one of the holding cell wardens enters and opens the cell, then unlocks the bracers as well. Cadaveus continues "Don't leave the city of Sigil, the investigation is still on going. Warden, show her to her possessions. No talking with the subject." and so the warden would lead her to her belongings and she's let walk.
To Garen in lowered tone Only small evidences so far, she may speak truth, but we don't know the right questions currently. But she'll likely lead us to more. I'll have her kept an eye out on and we can bring her in again later.

She offers her sweetest smile, and brushes lightly against Cadaveus before collecting her gear and winding her turban about her head in preparation for leaving. "I did be knowing you'd understand the right of things, dears. Oh, and just in the interest of saving your time, I'd be happy to return those gauntlets and the gag to Nienna. Speaking of which..."
Leaning in close, she whispers something into the Hardhead's ear, before turning and making her way (with or without the items she asked for) from the Barracks with a spring in her step.
(( the contents of the whisper will be posted elsewhere ))
Of course, she would not have mentioned to either of them the carefully drawn series of runes she would have made with the quill under the table. True, they had no magic in themselves, but could be extremely useful as a focus for some later scrying attempt, if necessary.
