Namer Richard (NPC) reports:

"We were able to prevent a new murder in the Clerk's Ward mere moments after anti-peak. The intended victim was a planewalker calling herself Weird. She told us that was headed to the new clinic opened in the ward when she saw a flash of light reflected from what she thought was a mirror. Weird says she spotted four figures on a nearby alley and had mere seconds to sidestep a bolt and to deflect another.

I was in the extra rooftop patrol that noticed the assault right when it started. Based on the severity of previous attacks, we immediately called for reinforcements and headed to the scene. When we reached the victim, she was lying down on the cobblestones. It looked like two more bolts had smashed her kneecaps, but I am no doctor. Thanks to our increased presence near the major portals, the reinforcements arrived in a timely fashion. In fact, the victim confirmed that the assailants scattered the moment they heard the whistle and our approach. We offered to help the victim to the clinic, but she insisted she was in need of no assistance - which she demonstrated by turning into a cloud of mist and floating away. Although we were unable to keep Weird for further questioning, we recovered four new silver bolts from the scene."

The following line has been crossed out:
"Man, these extra patrols are making my feet hurt. Oh! No, leave that one out. That wasn't meant for the report, Michael."

Mir wades to the Barracks, stating her business at the "lobby" in her usual brief and possibly cryptic manner.
  • "These delivered be to Christopher Cryptbane. Trace mayhap."
And that said she hands over a small package. If checked, the package contains two rune stones, "Alumen" and "Vaporis".

If she is questioned further, she doesn't explain much (mainly to avoid lengthy speculations), but tells however that the vampire-slayers made, likely, a mistake - by attacking wrong target. Who the target/almost-victim was, she doesn't reveal - stating simply that "they" (singular, not disclosing gender) wanted to remain unknown, for now.
