The female officer stands with her arms crossed somewhat irately, and starts in a much, much louder voice.
"I don't give two pikes about what screed you're mongering in S.I.G.I.S., I'm concerned about why you're going around planting implicating evidence on innocents... Now I'll ask you once and only once: why did you plant this on Tarion's vest?"

"And you also need to understand this isnt a society on Oerth, or any other prime where the governments afford people certain assumed rights"
"You want a lawyer? Get one yourself, but guess what your not on trial yet so you dont need one, your being detained as part of a security measure for a very important investigation, you might as well not exist to Sigil right now, when and if we decide to release you and it could be sometime before we are comfortable doing so, then you will be charged as we deem appropriate at that moment. In fact we have so much going on right now, i hope we dont forget about you in your cell".

However, i'm afraid I can't help you as I have no idea what you are talking about. If its the letter that your officers found on Tarion, then I cannot say how he came by it, only if its not authentic, then it is not through my doing. But why do you question the authenticity of it? Because Tarion denied it was his? In that case you should immediately release every prisoner from your cells, because i'm sure they all proclaim their innocence as well!"

((Guys? Can we move this forward? Otherwise ill assume that another officer came in and released me due to there being no evidence of wrongdoing.))

Measure Cryptbane smirks at the house burst of name calling and smiles.
"Fine then, we will do this the hard way" he says as he leaves the room repeating his instructions that the reporter is to be detained until the investigation into Sigils inside sources is completed.

((Sorry, leaving my character in limbo until some other RP is dealt with is not really nice. So, i'm going to have to do something drastic i'm afraid... i was really hoping for release or trial)).
((Also, assuming that Mustafa is now alone, and any guards are outside the room, if you think differently, well, poo to you since it wasn't stated :P Nor was Mustafa at any point searched.)).
As the Hardhead leaves the cell a smile spreads across Mustafa's face.
"Time to get to work" he thinks to himself.
From an inside lining his turban he takes a set could of small vials. Both are fairly inert, but when mixed are highly corrosive and produce a lot of smoke. He removes another could of well padded vials from a hidden compartment in his backpack and some powder. Finally he checks other trappings of his trade are easily available including a set of lockpicks and some small glassware.
((Skills: Mustafa has max points (for his level), invested in Craft Alchemy, Hide, Move Silently, Bluff, and a few other skills. He also has a few points invested in Open Lock. Other skills can be checked on request))
"Now for the fun"
He lightly pads across the room, listening for any activity in the corridor which may indicate someone approaching or the guard(s) deciding to take a peek inside.
He bends by the lock and takes the first two vials and oh so carefully opens them. With great dexterity, he holds the two vials between fingers in one hand, and in the other a funnel with a neck. The funnel he sticks into the door's lock. "Careful now" he thinks.
He hadn't wanted to do this part, he didn't know if the door was locked from the outside, and if the guards did not open the door to release him, and who knows, the guards may be happy to let him "burn", he wanted to make sure he could get out... once the flames started, they would burn anything.
He pours the vials into the funnel and quickly steps back. It will be less than a minute before the mixture starts to eat the metal and the wood of the door, and produce an unholy smell and massive smoke that should draw attention.
"20 seconds" he thinks.
He quickly pours some water from a bottle on a scarf and wraps it over his mouth, and places some goggles over his eyes. He then throws the remainder of the bottle over himself, dousing himself in water.
"10 seconds" he thinks.
Grabbing the other vials he steps to the wall and throws them against the table, where they shatter, the contents mix on the table, and a fire springs up... not a small one. The table is quickly reduced to ash, and starts spreading across the floor.
The mixture in the door lock by now is already burning merrily and smoke pouring out of the lock into the corridor. The flames and smoke were also building rapidly. The inside of the room already being hard to see due to smoke. Mustafa's Yuanti eyes probably worked better than human eyes in these conditions, but not by much. The heat was also growing rapidly, against, Mustafa's heritage helped a little, but not much. Time was of the essence.
"FIRE!!! FIRE!!" Mustafa screamed, edging towards the door.
He hoped the guards wouldn't be so stupid as to touch the door handle... a very easy way to lose a hand, or even metal gauntlet. He was prepared to open the door with a knife or by pulling the bars in the viewing hatch.
((When (or if) the guards open the door, smoke will roll out and the heat will hit them instantly))

((to be fair, prison cell equals to limbo. It's a place where no gaming happens and more or less translates to "don't log in until we say so" (Kinda like player initiated ban :P). And no, I don't think anyone ever means to imply or put such effect to another, but to the player that is put to prison that's very much how it is. To the guards/kidnappers/other people that happen to imprison it's just a matter of roleplay.
Don't get me wrong, my opinion is not built by this thread. I've had the same opinion for a couple of years already and it can be seen mentioned by me here and there. I did follow this thread and started to ponder how to make this kind of stuff more fluid...
I understand the IC-logic side, a Hardhead or Villain wouldn't just let people walk away... but at the same time player shouldn't be penalized for playing a game, especially in this case where the reasons of being held are hardly related or in the players hand.
I'd even go as far as to say, as long as someone is being imprisoned by another, their captors are locked from any other RP until it's being dealt with, and can only log in with the said character to roleplay with their prisoner in game... that's fair and keeps people from forgetting others around. Also makes sure such actions aren't taken lightly and that they are responsible of providing roleplay to the players they've denied external roleplay from. Or at the very least, give you perspective what it means to be imprisoned in roleplay.))

((Wasn't trying to be off with you, just got plenty of RP going on, and your post seemed to imply that Mustafa could be stuck for a long time (as Mr_O points out, effectively blocking me from ICly playing the character in game or in forum), so went ahead... but anyway, the die is cast as they say, so ill follow through on my actions for better or for worse.
As i said, i was hoping for either release (in which case he would condone his arrest in SIGIS) or trial (in which case he would make the court case a show where he denounces the authority of the Harmonium and the lack of evidence). Both variants would be fun.
So, if you want me to retract and can follow up soon with a result, i can recall my posts.
For the moment, i'll assume the guards opened the door and were repulsed by the heat and smoke allowing Mustafa to slip past them. Ill post bit by bit allowing your character to react, i assume he is in the barracks somewhere. Other Hardheads who are logically in the barracks can also react))
As the guards stumble back, Mustafa stumbles out, coughing and spluttering, frantically patting a couple of small spots of fire on his robe.
"Might as well try and do what I was asked to do here." he thought.
Running down the corridor to the entrance, he pulls a few smoke bombs and Fire Bombs and throws them into other cells through their viewing ports.
"Be a terrible shame if there were people in those cells" he chuckled to himself. A second later screams informed him there indeed were some people in at least some cells.
As he raced down the corridor he would grab any Harmonium, point back down the corridor and say "There are people trapped back there! Help them!" Relying on a combination of the emergency of a fire along with the Harmonium's natural instinct to obey orders when given in a commanding voice.
As he reaches the Duty Sergeant's desk he thinks "This is the only chance ill get to take anything, might as well be whatever is here"
He grabs as much paperwork as he can roll up him voluminous sleeves, and for good measure, drops another Fire bomb and steps forward....
((Over to anyone else to post reactions if they want, otherwise will continue tomorrow))

From the nearby smoke a tall, broad halforc appears, unfazed by the fire and smoke.
He moves quickly despite his bulk positioning himself between the door and the escaped suspect, trapping him between the flames and himself.
Grabbing Mustafa he pulls him back, away from the flames, the halforc shouting over the screams and flames:
" Secure the doors and alarm Section 2! Get some casters down here to smother the flames with Cones of Cold and Create Water!
You there! And you.. and you! Get the prisoners into the yard, guard them and make sure a cleric sees to their wounds. But in the Stern Lady's name keep them away from the portal!
Our own wounded to the left... call the medics!"
All the time a big, meaty hand, encased by a gauntlet rests on Mustafa's shoulder then the Halforc turns his attention to him, seizing him up.
"You are the one Cryptbane is interested in. You hurt?" It is more a statement than a question, his voice calm now- and as Hograth sees the man's wounds he offers Mustafar a minor Healing potion.
"Lets get this moving.", he says- leading Mustafa to one of the questioning rooms on the other side of the barracks glancing to a nearby namer.
"Tell Measure Cryptbane I found a missplaced suspect. As our cells are out of order we need to decide quickly what to do about this one. Tell him also if he needs a guvner for the paperwork I know where to find one.
This way, Sir."
