((No worries Sel we had a very timely reset there. Truely awesome rp you guys demonstrated there.))
The jammer was kept steady despite boughs of trees breaking against the outer hull. The fire spread fast aboard the upper deck but the evacuation was done flawlessly just as the battle it self the members of the 253rd qued up in good order like watching a piece of machinery. The rear men making a wall of shields to keep the lashes of flame from the heros helping the wounded men into the lifeboats as seeing them safely take off. They could not resist to be reminded of the Tyrantflame they had encountered in their nightmare as it consumed the Skystrider. Only the man at the helm was stayed behind. As blood ran from his forehead clouding his vision he could barely hold on to the Wheel he gave his comrades an last salute as he could hear them board the lifeboats. He did not need the full use of his senses to steer the ship even though it was rendered and sundred by the Xvimite force. He knew the ship like a husband knows his wife. One last landing remains.
The glooming twilight skies turns black and Purple above them as they see the Skystrider roar past and ahead of them at a tremendous speed plouging through the trees making a furrow of embers looking like a city street with lamps on either side at night. Until finally in the distance it bust into a swirl of bright lights as it crashed into a hillock continueing to burn atop of it. The marshland is buzzing with sounds of insects and terrified animals scurrying away from the clamour and light. The lifeboats will only be able to fly for a brief time. They see the foremost vessels making a landing at the largest patch of raised sods admist the many pools of open water and islands of peat. There is very little solid ground to find in sight. They quickly raise the boats as a ringfort around them and errect tents at the dryest spots of the turf and brings the wounded into them while the others stands guard around the improvised fort.
Hograth has the orb containing the map with him as well as the documents he recived from Christos previously. The leviatation spell active on the boat starts to fade as they make their landing. Waiting for them they see a dark tall man they regognise him as Christos second by his armour and exotic designed curved blade. The twilight skies turns darker and darker and the red flame in the distance loses intensity as it burns out and dies in the night.

((She sits besides Hograth and Ta'kan jr in a hoovering lifeboat. She unlike the others remember no details of the nightmare howerver. She remember the initial attack on the ship waking imediately unlike the others though: As they made planeshift they and the entire fleet was rederected from the original landing a lone winged armoured eaglerider was diving into the beds of clouds just before they were phased away. ))

Hograth feels the strain of his condition, the negative energy that was flooding his body still taking its toll, the Half Orc's skin pale. Pushing the memories aside he focuses on the tasks ahead- there will be time to honour the fallen later.
He is thankful for the assistance his Mechanus Forged Armour provides, the gears and pistons hiden under the scorched and blackened plates now helping him to stay upright and keep working.
Quickly he assigns notary Eversong to see to the survivors, to get them healthy enough so they can move out soon and he assigns notary Ta'Kan to organize patrols and pickets lines.
They need to know where they are, need to know what might threaten them and- most important- need to find a way to reach their destination.
He sits down on a piece of dry wood, looking over the maps, trying to find out where they are now- and how to best get to their destination.

Thick swarthy clouds of midges dive in on them. Boring into every piece of exposed skin and even through normally thick cloth. The torchlight seem to only attract more of them. The undergrowth is dense under the larger trees but the open peat and water broads out in large areas surrounding the patches of trees.
The wounded in the tents have various injouries ranging from javelins puncturing them to slash wounds. But most commonly burns by the fire and acid the dragon spewed on them. Most of them was fit to march however eceth a score of seriously wounded that couldn't walk by their own strenght. The bloodsuckers is relentlessly accausting those unfortunate soildiers.
The black orb containing the map buzzed alive in the strong hand that held it vibrating as it displayed the map. It flickered frequently though as it seemed to have either lost magical energy or taken damage. Hograth sees several ferns and swamps on the maps some covering larges swaths of lands while some being small pools in a plain or forest. He needed something to locate themselves on the map a landmark of some kind. They could either scout for it or attempt to march together as one until they could find one.
((I have a vague memory of a map maker for rpg's do any of you remember what it was called?))

Once again Hograth is thankful for his tough skin that is part of the draconic heritage slumbering inside him.
Long he was able to control this side, almost long enough to forget about it. But recent events brought it all back and he had to face it, had to fight it again.
Somehow he feels stronger now but he is also aware that this trait of his might still come back to haunt him.
Studying the maps again he decides to send out patrols to look for landmarks that might help determining their position, small three man teams made up of volunteers.
Leading the still wounded troopers into the swamp just hoping to be lucky is not acceptable for him and he trusts in the training the soldiers got, instructing them to use standarized Harmonium search patterns to ensure noone gets lost in this unknown terrain.
They also can cover a larger area this way and the teams should be able to move faster than the larger group.

Hograth realises that these men are armed for the field and the heavy equipment would slow them down in the bog as well as exaust them would they face any resistance during a march. But staying would not be without risk either with the eagle mounted skyriders they just had encountered fresh in mind.
He also sensed the men was follwoing orders but during a slient unspoken reluctance or waryness. Perhas they simply wasn't used to having a outsider commanding them or did they disagree? They quickly organised themselves in groups of three stripping themselves of the cumbersome plate armours and bringing only theri crossbows and swords with them vanishing in eight directions disapparing in the night wading through the mire.
He heard a voice behind him as he gave the orders and the men was executing them. "Good call Measure. The sooner we can plot the route and link up with the others the better." He would immediately recognise it as Christos second. Oddly he felt threatened all of a sudden all focused at the man stading behind him.
