a towering male human with a old and beaten breastplate and shield walks into the barracks and up a measure of one and asked in a serious tone "I seek able work to guard the public in more dangerous, and less patrolled areas by the Harmonium. I have sought out two so far, and the second one I approached was keen on thee idea of hired protection in the limits of the law. I was tempted on enforcement too in the laws reach, without having to -bend- it too much, if at all ... Am I speaking to the right faction on knowledge of law enforcement about rules and regulations? I am new to the cage, originally from Cormyr as a soldier fighting the forest folk skirmishers with cheap tricks tactics. I have learned that that over the time of my service that a strong, smaller, unit that is focused in the right place and right time makes all the difference. I try to achieve a balance with my outfit when, and if, the time comes."

He clears his throat "with that said, what am not able to do as a mercenary with public services, hired to escort and defend those with just cause and good intent in the cage, when, or if, the time comes? You may call me Nines. and I am open to diplomacy of coarse." he finished waiting for a response

The officer, a measure in rank, at the front desk of the barracks looked the man up and down with scrutiny, then said, "This is the city's headquarters for the Harmonium. We are the law enforcement of the city in that we enforce laws, conduct investigations, and make arrest. If you are asking for law interpretation, that is something you'll need to speak to the Guvners about."

He took out a thick binder and flipped through it. "Hmm, I don't see your name here, so you must not be registered. Well here's how it works. If you want to be a bodyguard for someone, just about any cutter can do that. The Fated might pressure you for a license, but they make licenses for everything that it's hard to keep track of it all. It's not uncommon for merchants and officials of the city to hire a sword or two to escort them from one spot to another. So long as you don't cross the law, we've got no issue. Don't murder someone, don't start anything, but if some berk is trying to shiv you or your client, you have the right to defend yourself. Worse case scenario, you get into a fight and things go bad then you have to deal with it in court. Any questions?"
